    Pittsburgh...?

    Hi.
I just moved to Pittsburgh last week and I was wondering what the He-man community, if any, is like here.
Also... Are there any shops that actually carry any He-man stuff? I checked out a few comic shops and managed to pick up a few Masters comics, but thats it.
    Thanks for your help.

Hi, I live in the Pittsburgh area and I don't really know any other He-Fans around here. When the 200x line was new Eide's Entertainment used to carry a lot of MOTU stuff. I haven't been there in a while so I don't know what the situation is now. It used to be a great store, but the one guy that works there is a real jerk. I wouldn't recommend shopping there unless you are looking for rare vintage comics.

Do you mean the bearded chubby guy? (I think you do.)

When the Commemorative Series came out a while back, I asked him if they were getting them in - he said, "Who the hell would want them."

    Exact quote.

I just walked out and told myself I will never speak to that man again.

Anyway, there's a few of us here in the 'Burgh but not many.

I checked out Eide's yesterday. I totally picked up a bad vibe there. They did however have the Blackstar series on DVD, so that was cool. Absolutely no MOTU anything, but they had enough Batman stuff to choke a horse.

Are there any cons here or do you guys know each other, or ever get together?

I don't know anyone here and it would be rad to meet some people that don't see my collection, laugh at me and say "40 year old virgin".

Yeah that's the guy. He's worked there forever and he used to be a nice enough person, but over the years he's become more and more cantankerous. When I went to the Art Institute I would stop there on the way to my bus once a week to pick up a comic or two. He seemed really ticked off that I never bought anything substantial there.

One time the guy who checked me out(thinner guy with a ponytail) forgot to put one of the books I purchased in the bag. I came back the next day with the receipt and explained that one of my books was missing. He apologized and said he realized after I'd gone that it was still sitting behind the counter. I said it was no big deal got my book and started to leave. As I was heading up the stairs I heard the bearded chubby guy yell "Yeah and don't come back!"

    I said "don't worry, I won't," and I haven't been back since.

Eide's music and movies sections are fine. Everyone that worked on those floors seemed very nice and helpful.

There are occassional comic conventions here. They are usually pretty lame though. During the comic book boom of the early nineties there were some pretty decent ones, but I haven't been to a good convention in years.

Sorry, G-Man and I don't know each other personally. Like I said ,I haven't met any MOTU fans in this area in person. I think this thread is a good opportunity for Pittsburgh area fans to find each other though.

I'm way down with meeting some fellow he-fans.

Hey guys, I got this info in an email the other day, it's no SDCC, but it could be fun.
I'm probably going to go, and was wondering if you guys would maybe want to meet up and give a proper Masters presence.

    Hello fellow orgers,

I'm moving to Greensburg, PA from Alaska. I've been a fan of He-Man since Dec 1982. I have been in these forums since 2002.
Is there a chance to meet other fans in the Great Pittsburgh area?
My family is still in Alaska until the end of school year. I want to use the extra time on weekends to catch up on MOTU and POP things.
Most of my childhood friends that enjoyed MOTU are now grown-ups that consider toys and cartoon a thing for kids
