Ok now Im ****ed. My slight recap...

To break this down nicely and clean, Im gunna just sum this up into numbers for you. If you dont like what I have to say, I respect that, but dont try and argue me.

I gave in yeah, I bought the figures after I didnt want to. I wanted to help, I really did, I LOVE he-man, and I wanna see all of us happy, but thats not happening.

    1) I was at NYCC, great cool. He-Ro!? Adora!? WoW! NA!? Holy cow!
--- no sorry, maybe in 2010....
Oh cool, I could be homeless or broke by then. With 1 figure a month its just looking crazy time frames. No ones fault, just speed up to 2 figs a month.

    2) We find out the order the figures is coming out in.
    --- 8 backs kiddies!
Alright, Im not really into rebuying the same commemoritive,200x,original,statue..... oh screw it already.

    3) King Greyskull orders.
--- Sorry folks, some came broken!
Well no kidding. The box on mine was kicked by the Incredible Hulk, and Im pretty sure it was painted at a camp for the blinde.

    4) He-Man and Beastman
-- delayed. We get 2 one month.
Thats good, quallity is important to us, Id wait.

But here's where things get screwy!!

I wasnt gunna buy em. I love he-man, helping, supporting "teh lein", havin fun with you guys.......

I get em and their crushed. Ok thats fine again, im a loose collector. So I'll just get em for X-mas. Well I really was kinda down tonight so said screw it, forked over the money to open Beastman up.

BOOM! Leg is loose as a goose (Note : I was gunna say something else...) So loose infact that the inside of the joint is almost white, like it was bent to hell to fit and broke.

Hmmmm.... so I checked He-Man (didnt open yet) his paint was HORRID.

So I'll ask you. Why do WE have to pay 8 dollars to ship these back? We didnt break them. Didnt I just pay Mattels shipping prices to get these to me? I dont want MORE figures, I want the figure I paid for. Its bad enough Greyskull came broken, now beastman...... whats next?

Honestly, I feel this line is poorly made, and its manufactures aren't doing anything about it. We cant go to the store and pick these out, and at 20 bucks a pop...... wait no, 28 a pop..... wait no,36 dollars a pop now each figure that will be sent back, its unrealistic and mean.

Thanks MOTUC, amazing concept, loved it. Thanks horsemen, beautiful work. Toyguru, thank you for updating us and being cool. But these are made so bad I'll just keep the old figures unless the quallity is improved.

Some of you will say "Oh wah boo hoo look at kreg complaining, get a life" im really not, im bring attention to those who worked REALLY hard for their money and get poor quallity, and have to pay to have it fixed right out of the box. People who dont have a disposible income wont be able to afford to return all their figures for more broken ones.

I can totally understand your frustration and I feel for you. I've been through problems like this before back when I was collecting. Needless to say problems like this is why I have quit collecting action figures all together. I'll still pick up one everynow and then, but those times are few and far between. After seeing MOTUC's, I was really torn between starting collecting again or just enjoying seeing pictures of everyone else's collections. So far it seems like everyone is spilt 50/50 regarding quality and Mattel's customer service. Honestly with the way everything is right now, the money is tight and I just don't want the hassle that a lot of fans are putting up with just to get these figures in their hands. There is no reason whatsoever that you should have to jump through hoops to get what you paid for.

Thanks bro, Im just trying to get the word out, maybe Mattel will say something about the quallity, between the horrid paint and busted limbs, its not worth the 20-40 youll end up spending per figure. If it was a 5 dollar figure maybe it would be easier, but most of the time people just suck it up or customize it, for those who cant afford to waste money I hope it gets better for us!

Btw, I agree with your icon fully!

I agree with almost everything you said. Where we differ: figure amounts. I think 1 is a good number, especially for international fans. Customs are a beast. I just got charged $10 on a $28 parcel. Merry Christmas, right?

Also, with how bad the economy is world-wide...many cannot afford to spend money on mulitple characters (especially MOC and loose collectors). Also, entertainment/luxury items are the first expense to go in hard times (a.k.a. these). One a month is enough. I think the line would suffer more with 2 characters a month. Also, it should HOPEFULLY allow Mattel time to actual fix problems (paint, shipping, loose/broken joints) so we won't have 20 broken toys before they get it right.

I can totally understand your frustration, Lord Anubis. To be honest, if returning figures were easier for me, I'd return my loose-legs/hole-in-the-nose BeastMan too. But I can live with the problems the figure has. I do hope that Mattel gets the word from these boards.

I can understand a new toy line having problems. ML still has problems after all these years with loose joints and paint applications, and I don't expect MOTUC to be ever perfect either. But I do hope customer feedback is heard and improvement happens.

thanks for bein cool with my rant folks, im glad you guys mostly understand where im coming from. Im not like angry at the establishment or trying to boil anyones blood, its just gross that we pay around 30 bucks (after shipping and tax) per figure and have to keep our broken stuff or be forced to pay more money.

I was most excited to maybe put my money and faith here with Beastie, loved the way he looked, but as a loose figure collector lookin to give em some battle.... loose leg joints arent gunna help. This figure is 100 percent worthless to me.

If He-Man is this bad, im calling mattel up and demanding they take this junk back at their expence. This is the only Mattel line (for me at least) that is poor quallity....... Vintage He-Man will be my definitive line, plus they probably wont even finish this line knowing them

Wow, this is really sad to hear. It's really a shame that so many motu fans are unhappy. I for one, just decided to open my he-man and beastman tonight..... sadly i wish i would have kept em on the card like I was going to. Beastman seems fine, but he-man has a bent leg and it seems to pop off easy. The figures are cool and all, but i would have been 100 times happier if mattel would have just produced more commemorative figures.

Isn't there some way to fix the loose joints by boiling/freezing them? I haven't tried it, but maybe that would help.

For what it's worth I hate bad paint apps too.

I had zero problems in til last night. I had He-Man on my shelf, and decided to have him hold his axe instead of his sword, but when i was switching the weapons out, his right arm just came off right at the elbow. I just kinda looked at it for a minute with my mouth open in shock.

It never was even loose, it was just out of the blue.

About paint, I also agree. The mini statues where the same price, and look at those paint aps. What's the point in calling this a collector's line if the paint is dodgy, figures are falling apart/too loose to even stand, and coming on crushed cards?

Maybe all this will be resolved in time, but by then, will there be a big enough fanbase to care? I've been pretty mellow, regardless of my King Grayskull being broken(the VERY first figure). But now, with everyone's problems with shipping, condition of the cards, and quality of the figures themselfs, I'm thankful I have other toylines that bring me joy. If MOTUC was my only outlet I would be in trouble.

I think the only ones here doing their job is the Horseman, because the sculpts are breathtaking. Mattel's production, now that's a problem.

Thank you!!! Same here. I got a defective Beastman too. I order another one when Mattel told me that I have to pay for the return shipping. Second Beastman defective too. They have to work with the quality of the figures unless they want this line loose and dead too.

It's really sad that Mattel makes you pay for return shipping and doesn't reimburse you. I think that's a fairly uncommon policy for shipped goods.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect quality when you're paying $20 + shipping for each figure. You have a valid complaint and no you certainly shouldn't have to pay to return them to get what you should have gotten to begin with. If I were you, I'd call the matty customer service number and ask to speak with a manager. Their policy should be if you're not satisfied, return it at Mattel's cost AND Mattel should send you replacement figures on their dime as well. About not having disposable income…I'm with you on that one…which is why the one figure per month is good for me.

Is there 0% chance of Mattel ever releasing these commercially in stores? I've already been waiting a month and gotten bugger all plus the cost per figure is ridiculous.

Like most, I was really excited at first. Now, I've become so jaded on this line due to the crap shipping times and horrible cost per item that I've lost interest.

Doesnt bode well for Mattel, does it?

Uhhhh did I mention I friggin adore every one of you guys? In some case Im glad im not alone, but on the other hand, I feel for you guys too. This line was ment for us, but now its more like joke played on us.

THATS TERRIBLE H!! 2 Beastman's all defective?? Im sorry!
So lets do the math..... 20+7+7 plus if you return it again, like 41 bucks on 1 figure that was broken by the company.

Like I said, they look beautiful (well the ones that dont have bad paint apps) but the quallity is F and the customer service is F. Not worth it, stick with the originals, they were durable and had WAY better features!

I hear ya!!! I finally got mine last week. Just last night I decided to open He-Man up. Paint apps are just ok..could be alot better for the money these cost. his right arm is loose and he can't stand as his right foot is loose too!!!
WTH!!!! I pay good money..well I traded for these but still its all the same.

Mattel...you need to fix these problems that you yourself created!!! You knew of the QC issues with the DCUC line..and now those same QC issues plague the MOTUC line. I mean, you held up the figures becuase of issues...that don't even exsist with these first two figures. Didn't you guys say that you could get the harness to work right with He-Man? That it would have to be fixed to the back on him somehow? butu yet the harness is loose.

Now we have other issues, like loose or broken joints. Or better yet...paint apps that look like my 3 yearold nephew put on some of these???

And its not like we can go back to the store and return these and look for better versions. And to pay to ship them back..well is just retarded!!! Sorry, it just is. We pay $20 plus shipping and then have to pay to send them back???? better off just keeping an inferror product than pay again.

I'm really sorry you've had such problems with this line. I guess I've been lucky mine have all gotten to me in great shape, great paint aps, a little damage to the packaging but I have faith toy guru is aware of that and working on a fix.

Yeah, I guess I'm in the "lucky" area as well. I feel bad, I just made a post last night trying to convince Little Joy to jump into the line, since it seemed like the problems didn't outweigh the praises. Granted, I suppose it's different seeing one thread with all the problems in one place. My He-Man just came out perfect, and all the loose joints, bent legs, and screwed up paint apps just surprise the heck out of me, considering how awesome He-Man turned out for me.

I suppose the only thing I can say is that a dude on TNI talked about his problems, and said that he was able to get the 8 bucks dropped off when shipping it back by asking to talk to the manager. Of course, he was real ticked, so I don't know if you have to be angry about it as well.

I guess I just have to stick with the line and wait to see if I end up in the same boat with the rest of you. I won't lie; I'm gona be real disapointed if Skeletor is screwed up. I just can't say that I won't be excited about the figure as well, and looking forward to getting another. Has anyone had two bum figures in a row?

One of the posters above did. As did I with King Grayskull.

I was feeling nuts today, I heated Beastman's leg and froze it to be smaller around the knee joint (the problem area)........ did NOTTHING. So I did a old ML trick and poured elmers clear glue into the joint, this has worked before.... NOTTHING!? The gap in the knee is just so large and broken that not even the best customizer could fix this bad boy.

So the problem isnt fixed but I did locate the sorce of our issues...

The people or machine putting these together is the reason, its jamming the pegs in so hard that because of their flexibilty at the time, isnt hardining right and leaving huge gaps to break.

Its REALLY a easy manufacturing issue to solve, not rocket science. Its pretty funny how Ive collected Mattel toys for 25 years now, spent more then a car on their items, and yet THIS is the line that is bad. The original's were great, commem were perfect, 200x not 1 problem.... this line notthing but. WOW.

Actually 1 problem with 200X was the brittle plastic, I replaced 4 Orko`s before just settling on keeping the one with the glued hand, I had an issue where He Man fell of the shelf and his foot broke in half. With 200X the plastic was crap! I had to fix a ton of my sons figures for him, they weren`t very kid friendlt at all for a line that was apparently driven towards kids. my MOTUC hasn`t showed up yet, so I can`t comment on the problems with them.

I purchased my He-Man a couple days before my wife lost her job....so no more MOTUC for me.

Anyway, I haven't opened my He-Man yet, but he did arrive on a bad card. The paint app is especially horrible on his chest armor and he has a gash in his left shoulder. I don't even want to know what the joints are like because I can see that he is suffering from the "bent out of shape by packaging" right leg.

I don't collect many toys but this series had me intrigued. Not anymore.

I myself didnt really have any major promblems yet. Kg was loose in the legs but i can deal. Beastman is loose but i can deal.

If i had to pay shipping back to mattel for them to fix a promblem that should not have exsisted in the first place then id snap out.

There are alot of valid points here. This is a about a $28.00 figure and there should be NO promblems at all. The card should be mint and the figures should not fall apart or have crappy paint apps. Look I understand Mattel is saying this is the best they can do. But do they now realize the demand behind these. Make them the figures they are supposed to. Make everyone happy. I really dont want to hear it they are making a whole lotta money and each figure. And the shipping could be lowered to at least 5 a figure and 8 for 2-3 figures. It is silly.
