Resident Evil: Degeneration

This is a post solely intended for fans of the 'Resident Evil' series of video games, as well for any of you zombie enthusiasts.

I've been a fan of RE for years, ever since the first game reared its ugly head nd have collected every game for the PS systems that have come out. Woe be to me now that RE5 is scheduled but for a PS3 -- which I do not have.

Anyway, all of that is beside the point. How many of you RE fans were aware that there was a new RE movie out, direct to DVD, called "Resident Evil: Degeneration?" I bought it yesterday and just watched it now and all I can say is OH! MY! GAWD!

It was without a doubt one of the best movies that I ever bought on a whim! It had me glued to my TV from beginning to end and on the edge of my seat! The best part was; IT WAS COMPLETELY CGI ANIMATED! It was just like watching a movie entirely like those CGI previews at the start of video games -- ONLY BETTER!

I was amazed at the level of detailing that went into the making of this movie! The story was even pure Resident Evil as in the games, none of that 'Alice' bull**** from the theatre films!

This CGI film starred two RE mainstays in Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield.

And that does not even BEGIN to do it justice! Seriously, if you enjoy RE games or are even a tad curious -- RENT this (or buy it like me)! You won't be disappointed!

I have been eagerly awaiting this film for a while now, and just saw a few tv ads for it too. It fits into the official game storyline as well, and has the same voice actors from the games. Not out till Monday over here though.

I watched it this weekend. It was really good IMO. Does anyone else think the voice actress for Claire sounds like sarah michelle gellar?

Oh and Shokoti AFAIK RE5 is going to be on the 360 and ps3.

Yes as of right now it is going to be dual released on the 360 and PS3, Japan is even getting special edition systems.

I saw it and thought it was really bad. I don't think I'll ever watch it again... On the other hand, I really liked the RE5 demo for the 360.

Unfortunately I just have a PS2.

Just watched it, and I enjoyed it. Helps if you're a fan, though. I can't say i'd recommend it to people unless you're into the games.

I picked it up last night and watched it. I thought it was pretty good. If you like the games then you will like the movie.

Great stuff for the true RE fan, i liked the live-action efforts but this one blew them away. It's a nice adult animated feature! can't wait for RE 5.

Finally got around to watching it and I thought it was GREAT! It was like watching the cut scenes from the game without having to actually play the game.

If you like RE then I think you will love this, they could have easily put a game that followed the movie and I think it would have been enjoyable.

Its too bad they did not give much backstory on Claire, we know this comes directly after RE4 (which is why Leon is tied to the Preisdent) and before RE5, but its not really been explored what happened to Claire after RE:CV and this movie outside the fact she went to work for the protest company

I thought it was stated somewhere that it took place just before RE4? I can't remember where, though. Did the movie give a date?

Nope according to all sources it takes place one year after the events of Resident Evil 4 and 7 years after the attacks on Racoon City

The ending also sets up RE5 (which takes place about 3 years after this movie) because we see the rise of the company that is responsible for what is about to happen in Africa

I am still waiting to rent this on netflix, it' on "very long wait" for bluray, been that way since it came out.
