Vote for the Best Dream Mistress FINALE!

This is it! All gloves are off, and only the most favoured gladiators may do
battle for their Mistress! What an outstanding challenge this was... Perhaps Not the biggest,
but certainly one of the best.

I hope many of you will join us again in the near future, when we take on GYGOR! He-mans giant golden
    Ape.

Holy toledo! Usually in these polls, there are two or three I really like that immediately jump out from the rest, but this time around...you've all really outdone yourselves.

I don't know what the template for this character was (was she on the original series?) but I like the mystic purple color scheme.

6.JafariStew, your gal is HOT! Very realistic (did you trace?) and I like the face. Innocent, sexy...definitely possibilities there. I'd like to see He-Man try and resist this one. *Um...just read the synopsis there...so Hordak dresses up like a lady to lure men, eh?*

7.gbagok, I expected your work to be the one I'd vote for (as usual), but this time around, the only touch that really grabs me are the bulbs. I like that sort of "dream in a bulb" idea, and you use it well. The horns are also nice, but I think that the other submissions have a leg up on yours this time in terms of uniqueness.

8.j-bird has a John Delaney/Darwin Cooke thing going on, and I really like it. But I like those artists styles too, so maybe I'm not thinking MOTU here. Still, it's cool, unique, inspired. Ya got the Indian godess thing going on, plus the horns and whatnot. Nice work. Does it have one leg or two? Hard to tell, and frankly, I don't care...it's cool either way!

3.nightwing has taken a page from the Spinnerella book of tassles, but what really gets me is the face. VERY disarming, powerful, threatening and haunting. I like it...a lot!

4.Seraphyn has crafted a beautiful image, to be sure...but I feel like this character is operating on a different level than the others, which all have some sense of foreboding about them. This gal, in her model clothes, could walk the runways of Eternia and be friends with Adam. The design aspects are great, but I don't see enough of who this character is through the drawing, in terms of being good or bad, inquisitive, emotional, etc.

Hmm...I'm between 3. and 6. though as I said...they're all really interesting, different and well done!

This is next to impossible. In the end I just had to go with my gut.

Hi DisneyBoy thanks for the kind words. I can ASSURE you that NONE of my artwork is traced. I have a Bachelor's in Illustration & do professional work.
And I definately take that as a compliment!!
I can tell you that I draw from "life" when ever possible, & for the "Dream Mistress" I used a model & some inspiration from the character of Kahlan of "Legend Of The Seeker" TV fame for some of her asthetics like the hair.

The is DEFINATELY one of the most awe inspiring challenges so far, congrats to everyone who made the finals!!

I can't possible emphasize how little interest I had in the character chosen for this round, which is why it amazes me how much I like what's been done. In most rounds there are just a few designs that I like at all, but this time there're so many incredible renditions and I honesly have no idea who to choose.

Thanks DB - glad you like my take on her. She's got two legs - the one is sort of in front of the other, almost as if she's taking a step toward the viewer through that dreamscape in which she exists.

And I have to say that everybody really stepped it up a notch this time. All the designs are great, and congrats to everybody who threw down the gauntlet on this one. It's really an honor to have made it into the finals.

    man...
J-bird..something new from him and so awesome ..of all the entries ..it has the most dream quality to it IMO..

Jafari..yeah he can draw his women all day long as far as i am concern.. something about the way he draws them he gets cute and sexy ..and his dream mistress is no exception..

Gbagok..really knows how to update the older chaters..and this is no exception...questions is where does she fit in the tours?

nightwing..just a beautiful piece nuf said....

seraphyn while i do not get a dream mistress "feel" to your piece i really love your design and i hopw that you renme her and make her another fan character..because she is just too cool to leave alone..maybe even enter her into royalT's contest next year..

2-bad and munky are 2 of my favorite guys and artsitst and i LOVE there entries...and i almost want to vote for 2 bad ...

BUT... i just cannot decide... right now..

I totally figured that, but at the same time, there was something cool about the mystery of maybe she only has one leg. Nice work.

    Gah! I still can't vote!

thank you so much DisneyBoy im really pleased you like her.
when i first seen the image of the original character for some reason i kept seeing images of african tribes & such. i think it was something to do with her head dress but i just couldnt quite put my finger on it. so because of this i really wanted to focus on that whole ethnic theme plus i wanted her to be almost like a voodoo style witch who could take complete controll of peoples dreams.

As I said earlier, there are some amazing pieces here. However in the end i had to go with Seraphyn's design, but it was a very hard choice

JonWes, yeah it's been decided... It's another barrel-scrape. GYGOR!

The prototype steed for He-man that was revealed by John Sweet some two or so years ago. He's a giant GOLDEN ape. ^^

Cheers buddy I did write a character bio which kinda explained her look and without it I agree she probably looks the least like the original... but whatever
    It was fun,
my Gygor is quite different from the original idea as well I think.

oh, and i think i have to go with J-bird. It's just too cool.

Sweet Primus! I think you people are trying to make me have a cerebral meltdown. This is too slaggin' tough. I had to go with Gbagok though, as his Dream Mistriss has the most menacing attibutes.

Well, the poll has closed, and the winner is pretty obvious.

Congratulations gBagok! That's quite a comeback there, mate.

A small 'grats goes out to Seraphyn as well, your first challenge, and considering your opponents you did exceptionally well to score a second place! I'm sure we'll see a great deal of good stuff from you in the future.

Aaaaand. I never voted before the poll closed! Gah!

Sorry to those whose work I wanted to support! I still think it's all awesome...I came back to this thread THREE TIMES and STILL couldn't decide. Pat yourselves on the back!
