Now this is how to make a modern slasher movie without being too self-referential and too jokey like "Scream", but more in the mode of "Friday The 13th" the original "My Bloody Valentine" or "Nightmare on Elm Street".
Tom Atkins does a great peformance as the chief in this reimagining of a cult slasher fave, the 3D was amazing and there was some nice old school gore effects ala in the Tom Savini kind of way.
This is the best horror remake in recent memory besides "The Ring", "Dawn of the Dead" and "The Hills Have Eyes". It's also the best slasher movie in recent memory that stands with "Inside" and "High Tension".
I hope the remakes to "Last House on The Left" and "Friday The 13th" are as good as this one.
