    He-man Season 2 (***!)

So I got a real sweat deal on season 1 of the filmation He-man series, Vol 1 & 2 (all 65 episodes) for $18 plus shipping on Amazon. So I watched them and got all pumped to watch the last 65 episodes, but everywhere I look I find too overpriced. ***? $65-80 for Season 2 vol 1 and $50-80 for Season 2 vol 2. These are the Amazon and Ebay prices. Why so much, where these volumes released in a super rare limited run? It cant be the content size because its the same number of episodes, these are DVD's not Blueray. I don't understand.

Only two days ago I won season 2 volume 2 on e-Bay for $40. I'm not sure where you are looking but wait for a regular auction on e-Bay. Don't use the Buy It Now options as they are all overpriced. The demand for these DVD sets aren't very high so just wait for an auction.

Watch this auction. It may end at a descent price. I would guess around $70/$80.

The DVDs are now "out of print", meaning they are no longer being produced. Every since BCI (the company that was putting these out) got shut down, they haven't been made.

A few stores may have some here and there still hanging around, but once they sell out, that's it. People selling on ebay are, well, resellers. And odds are most of the Amazon listings that you are seeing for that price are probably those secondary market sellers, and so you wouldn't actually be buying the product directly from Amazon (Amazon just the channel you work with the seller through... kind of like ebay, just minus the bidding aspect).

So, in that sense, the individual sellers (and any demand that happens to exist for the product itself) dictates the price. But I'm sure if you keep an eye out, you'll be able to find those sets for a more reasonable price.

Novocaine - you might get more responses too if you post this in Original Masters of the Universe Forums. Maybe a mod will help move it for you.

I think these later sets are harder to find just because most people purchase the first or second sets and then maybe skipped on the later boxes. Now there is more of a crowd looking for them now that the sets are out of print.
