Should Skeletor Die In The Movie?

No killing Skeletor, that is not the way MOTU works. This isn't like other franchises because the villain is more iconic and interesting than the hero. There are many MOTU fans that consider Skeletor to be their favorite character. Not just favorite villain but favorite overall character. There are many fans that root for Skeletor and like him better than He-Man. Killing Skeletor would be a slap to the face to a large portion of the fan base. Skeletor always gets away as to show evil can never truly be defeated. Skeletor and He-Man are like the Yin-Yang. The Yin can never actually defeat the Yang. One side just exists to balance out the other.

He-Man vs Skeletor is a true duality. Their relationship is like summer and winter, night and day, sun and the moon, life and death. It is a balanced cycle like the ebb and flow of the tides. This the natural way of things.

I think the first movie should end with Skeletor clearly beaten, but not dead. Turned to stone, imprisoned in crystal, something like that. He can't free himself, that's the important part. Without help from outside, he is out of the story.
Of course, in a sequel, there would be help from outside. Maybe even the heroes who want to question him about Hordak. But he shouldn't be the villain of that movie.
And then he returns in the third as King Hiss' advisor who betrays him and becomes the main villain in the third act. Then he dies.
Or it looks that way. If there is a New Adventures movie it will turn out he survived by becoming a cyborg.

Yeah, there's ways to not kill Skeletor but have him imprisoned somehow like Cape said. They really need to address Skeletor and Hordaks friendship/hate for each other. King Hsss can play an intregal part as well. Geez, this movie could be so awesome if they do it right. Praying for that!

Don't kill him off in the first film or at least leave it open to the possibility he's still alive. Go through a few films with other villains, bring back Skeletor in the last one, and off him then to wrap up the franchise.

Be careful killing off other main "henchmen." Some of them you'll want to have return. Come up with a template for nameless good and bad guy troops (red shirt types) that can be killed off in battle sequences.

If it is only one movie, Skeletor can die in the end, but I would prefer if he was revealed to be actually still alive, similar to the 1987 movie.
If we know we get more, I would go a different route. I would have the final fight in Castle Grayskull and Skeletor ending up depowered in the Castle's dungeon.
That way, Adam can visit him in an after credits scene and Skeletor ca reveal "I know where your sister is."
Leading to Hordak as the main antagonist in the sequel.

There may be a case for killing off henchmen just to make room for more.

As it stands, based on rumors, I think we’ll probably be lucky if Keldor loses his face by the end of the movie. So killing him off would mean no Skeletor.

I feel if Keldor dies and is resurrected as Skeletor, Skeletor can die and be brought back for other adventures. Skeletor is the main antagonist. In the cartoon, He-man had plenty of enemies, but definitely not as well known as Skeletor.

One of the things I hated about the first X-Men franchise is how quickly they dispatched villains who had 30 year comic story arcs. If they kill Skeletor that would be incredibly stupid.

Have him put out of commission for a while/disappear but to 100% kill him for good would not be a good idea imo

I had a MOTU record once upon a time where Skeletor was dispatched by trapping him in 'a vortex or void'. That was a clean way to remove him from the board. He-man wins, Skeletor loses forever.... but at any time Someone, SOMEHow could easily bring him back in the first 10 minutes of the sequel.

Make the goal of the movie be the hero stopping the villains plan, not ENDING HIS LIFE...

I think if they use the whole Keldor/Skeletor mythos, just like Keldor is resurrected as Skeletor, Skeletor isn't necessarily immortal but can be revived. Technology to primitive people can appear to be magic. I could see Hordak using Keldor as a means to reestablish control of Eternia after being defeated and sent to Despondos. Once Keldor is killed by Randor, Hordak uses technology left in Snake Mountain to revive Keldor, who becomes Skeletor. In the process, Hordak uses nano technology called DEMOs to repair the damage to Keldor which Hordak has used on himself. The nano technology has extend Hordak's life well beyond its natural limit, enhancing his body with technology when necessary. His skin has hardened into pale white scales on his face, while the rest of it remains pale blue from the nanites. The process turns Keldor's skin blue and he uses technology to hide his disfigured face with the visage of a skull.

Once Skeletor is aware of this DEMO tech left behind in snake mountain, he uses it to his advantage, reviving a bounty hunter who would become Trap-jaw, fallen soldiers to become skelecons, and eventually, the living flesh of a cyborg He-man clone called Faker.

I think killing off a villain in a live action movie is quite appropriate and allows other beloved villains such as Hordak and King Hiss to shine . The sequels are all stand a alone and whats the chances all 3 movies becoming a box office success after which you might have problem or not ? There is Horde prime . Most of Skeletors minions are pretty strong . Evil Lynn is almost as strong as Skeletor . Beast Man commands all animals and Merman commands all fish thats an awesome duo for a movie .

Nothing is more annoying than special effects from a successful movie being budget downgraded for a rushed second movie . The 3 Ninja turtles movies , those turtles just kept looking and worse .
