    Greetings from Brandon Florida!

    Hi all!
    New guy here!

Im not new to figure collecting by any means, but just new to this site.

I loved MOTU figures as a kid. And was SO pleased when they brought them and a new cartoon out (the BEST cartoon EVER imho). I never understood why they canceled such a top notch cartoon. It had so much more to give us yet storyline wise. It was on levels that could both appeal to kids as well as adults. My wife even liked it, and she's not crazy about cartoons usually.

Anyway... I was sad to see the 200X line end. Then I saw the new figures that were called "statues" for some reason, but I never got any bc they were just too expensive at the time for me to buy. (though I still planned to at some point)

Then came the MOTUC figures. Now I was seeing only prices like like around $40-60. I thought this was normal pricing for them and so figured I could get into collecting them. Recently I met a guy on Hisstank who had some and we talked about trading. He told me about MattyCollector and that they were $20 and released a figure each month. And while that's still more than I ever thought I'd spend on a single figure, I couldnt resist.

So I got my first two figures from him, Man-At-Arms and Hordak, then bought the 2010 subscription and Tri-Klops (plus an extra for trading). So I am now an MOTUC collector.

I mostly now only collect GI Joe and MOTUC. The occassional Star War item as well.

I am into Airsoft, and am a member of the 501st as well.

We JUST (this week) moved here from NY. Anyone else from the Brandon Florida area?

Well, I guess that's it for now.
If you actually read this far...thanks!

    - Hawk

Welcome to the boards! Were you upset by the portrayal of General Hawk in the movie?

I played airsoft with some junior high guys on a camp I was a counselor at. I found that if you don't have an automatic it sucks really fast though...
In Midwinter, the heat from the oven baking my Shrinky Dinks is all I need!

    Hi Midwinter!

Thanks. In answer to your question... yes, and no.
Yes because I like Hawk as he was originally meant to be... THE Leader of the GI Joe team. The guy on the battlefield with his troops.
But then they came out with his clone, Duke. And in the late 90's Hasbro sort of decided Duke should be the Poster Boy for GI Joe for some reason. Must be a cartoon kid running things now, they seem to like Duke a lot since he was the leader in the cartoon.
No, because this is a new GI Joe for a new generation. While I would have liked to see him get into some serious action, he was still respectible and sort of a "Professor X" / "father figure" type character.

Im looking to get into some serious airsoft action. I have a P-90, a GK-36c and a couple automatic/semi auto pistols. So Im good to go... just need some people to shoot at... I mean play with.
