Hope everyone has an enjoyable and safe Christmas these holidays. I know I intend to enjoy every bit of mine. A few years back there was a He-Man.org Coloring Book project made up of .org artworks and that was a fantastic idea. It certainly kept my little nieces and nephews busy all year round. But to mind there can never be enough coloring pages when you're a kid (at least I could never get enough of them) so I've drawn and uploaded some screen caps from the PoP dvds into my fan art album here but here are some for anyone who hasn't seen them yet.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year folks!

Can someone explain to me why when I try to color the picture in Paint every color comes out as gray?

If you're using the Paint that comes with Windows then you need to make sure that under the attributes setting is set to color and not black/white or grayscale. Then it's just a matter of picking your colors and brushing, spraypainting or filling with bucket tool. Note: If you use the bucket tool make sure that the whole area you want in that particular color is actually outlined in black or whatever color your picture is drawn in. If there is even a one or two pixel break in the outline then the color you select will spill over into the surrounding areas.

If you're using the Paint.NET paint program that you can download free and that has a few of the photoshop tools, utilities and filters then you have to make sure that the correct layer is selected (if working with layers). There are some cool tutorials on youtube dealing with some of the basic digital art technique using Paint, Paint.NET & Photoshop to name just a few...you might like to check them out.

I'm glad you like them but they're only line drawings of the screen caps from the dvd...it's not like I've added my own style or twist on them. I guess I'm just a Filmation purist and don't think that art style can be improved upon.

Concerning the pictures: I don't mind. Maybe some colouring would be nice.

My avatar is Lady Polgara the Sorceress, daughter of Belgarath the Sorcerer. They're characters from the Belgariad & Mallorean series by David & Leigh Eddings. One of my favourite fantasy writers.

I drew these pictures and am drawing more primarily as coloring pages for my nieces & nephews so the coloring is for others to enjoy. My only attempts at coloring digitally tend to be flat colors...I'm not much good at shading & highlights. But if anyone else here wants to color them & post them on these boards then feel free. That's why I draw them.
