Wacom INTUOS3 A4 : can you trace lines

Hey,

I want to pick up drawing again and thinking about buying the Wacom INTUOS3 A4.

This is a okay tablet, right?

Can you trace lines with this or do you always have to scan? I think the bamboo had a cover you could place pics under?

Or should I get the Wacom INTUOS4 M? They are about the same size, right?

any graphics tablet can be used to trace, no need for scanning at all

wacom tablets are the best out there, just give it a try

Thanks! I know the older bamboo board used to have a cover where you could place the picture under. I dont see that with these boards.

The Intous is the pro line produced by wacom for designers, artists and photographers, I tried other wacom Tablets but nothing beats Intous.
as for tracing images most of the artists scan hand drawn images then trace them using softwares such as Adobe photoshop or Illustrator.

There's an A4 Intuos3 in front of me right now which I've worked with for over two years (it's a fantastic tool!), and although with some peeling the cover comes off, I don't think it's transparent.
And now that I look at it again, I'm not entirely sure it's supposed to come off...

But like Rou-man said, scanning them into Photoshop and such is the best way to go.

Well, the Wacom INTUOS3 A4 arrived yesterday.
I still have to get used to it though.

I installed Zbrush to do some sculpting.
