Thanks for the kind feedback, everyone!
I hope my Skeletor figure will arrive soon, so I can start celebrating him behind my drawing board (hmm that sounds a bit awkward...)
Cool you noticed! That was the one bit I liked more in the cartoon version.
Yep, lately I'm using digital tools more and more over traditional stuff. But I still like my pencils, pens and painting gear; they smell so nice!
Hey, thanks for that! I thoroughly enjoyed the works on your artblog as well - especially the oldschool painted pieces - great stuff! Looking forward to your future works!
Cheers,
Chris

Hi all, thanks for those kind words there!
Sorry I haven't gotten back with the promised follow-up yet. I received my 'Classics' Skeletor last week, did a quick sketch, but haven't found the time yet to finish that one up properly because I also have a debut comic book coming out in France next month that needs promoting, so things are a little hectic right now...
So... Hopefully more soon!

That's a great looking Teela - I love the older style MotU artwork![]()
It's great being Lord of the Thundercats - especially hanging out with Cheetara - but the one draw back is that He-Man can still beat me up.

Classic looking Vallejo, Williamson illustration style!!
Pshhh, what took you so long in getting here!
Welcome aboard and yup, that there be a great Teela and like others have said, looking forward to seeing more!![]()
Gorgeous! I'm really looking forward to your Skeletor now - the tone of this piece reminds me of vintage advertising from the original line (like the coloring books and stuff) - I absolutely love it!
Superb!![]()
Brings doom to MOTUC with cel accuracy.
Hello again, and sorry for the long silence...Thanks for the kind words there, people!
The style I aimed for is indeed mainly influenced by the classic box / promo art from the earliest figures, which btw also are by far my favourite figures (they look so weird in an awesome, old-fashioned, non-gimmicky sf/fantasy way).
My graphic novel debut is still eating up almost all of my time at the moment, but I promise I'll be on that Skeletor asap! (although I'm actually starting to get a little scared now - the feedback so far has been a bit overwhelming - what if Skeletor sucks... ?)
Hehehe, just to name a few guys every artist (especially here!) should at least be familiar with... No school like the old school![]()
Btw, you've got some outstanding stuff on your site yourself - thanks for the welcome!
Cheers,
Chris

This is now officially one of my all-time favorites! So elegant, simple and true to how we recall her! Awesome work, man!

Why do i see this only now??? Thats awesome and the absolute perfect MotU Style!
Need more, more please![]()
So sorry to bump this old thread but I just recently found some fresh feedback waiting in my mailbox on this Teela pic... And there I was thinking it was long forgotten by now!
Many many thanks for the awesome comments (also to Kalidor and JimPansen)! It's appreciated lots!
It's still my goal to give the other 'Classics' the same treatment (He-Man & Battle Cat, Skeletor, Teela, Mer Man, Beast Man, Man-At-Arms and Stratos), but with lots of pressing deadlines it's been really difficult to find the time for 'just-for-fun' pieces (and visiting the forums) last year. Also, I want to practice inking muscular men some more...
Anyway, again: thanks so much! And hopefully more *very* soon...
Cheers,
Chris

Fantastic and well executed interpretation of Teela..all hand drawn? Ink? Or computer coloured? What inks u use or what programs?
This is my first time commenting in any fan art section.
I love that image. I would be first up to buy your comic or artbook.
More please Chris! Your Teela is a beauty!

I'm using Winsor & Newton drawing ink with pens and brushes for the b/w drawings and Photoshop for the colours. But recently I've been warming up to Paint Tool SAI, which is very cheap, fast and awesome.
Thanks, all! This is getting me pretty fired up to get back to this project asapBut, still need to get some more comic pages out of the way first...
Cheers,
Chris

Well, I'm subbed to this thread, so hopefully when you do post more of your pics, whenever that is, you could give a quick head's up here?
I'd love to see more of your work; it's in a great style for MotU!

Really nice, everyone will love every bit of this style you have to share.
