Eternia in 3D

I was messing around a bit with Google Sketchup, and some nice things came along:

Thanks! With these models you could create highly detailed renderings, animations, action games (if you have the required skills, time and applications)... you could also create something like Google Eternia, a map with all popular locations, cities and sights as in Google Earth.

That's amazing Ofty, I've always been curious as to how Sketchup works. It's not like a standard modelling program, is it?

Thanks! Actually it's quite simple for creating models based on geometrical bodies. It gets tricky when dealing with curved shapes (creating the wings was quite annoying). But you get used to it quickly, and it's great for quick visualisations.

You beat me to it ofty. Those look fantastic! I can't wait to get to learning toon shaders. I was planning to design the new Eternian palace real soon. These are all great.

They look great, but the grade of the stairs leading to the throne appear to be too steep.

*sigh* I know, I think it happened due to an inconsistency of the reference pictures I had. I counted the steps and constructed the stairs accordingly, but at the end it didn't really fit to the total angle of the structure. It was too late when I noticed that, and I would have had to repeat a looooot of work to correct it, so I left it like that. Maybe I'll adjust it in a later version and decrease the angle of the whole structure a bit.

Do you use the free version or Sketchup or the Pro? Just so I know when I use it to help me plan my diorama.
