Her face looks better at different angles than face-on, it's weird. I like the paint job though--some nice work on her costume and on her weapons. Screech is also impressive (although it ticks me off that Screech will have a stand and Zoar still doesn't).

Don't get me wrong. I like this Evil-Lyn as she is the one I wanted first, but I would've like her a bit more if she were a mix between the 2 designs. Like a paler yellow complexion with her 200X style dress but in classic colors similar to this:

GREAT pics!! Would have loved some more dynamic poses but Evil-Lyn looks AWESOME!! HELLLOOOOOO Evil Warrior Goddess! The short staff/wand looks the best and is the one I'll use with her. I'll probably give her the crystal necklace from the staction to wear when she feels like it.

I like her face but the light metallic blue isn't doing anything for me. do we know we are getting a 200x colored varient? If so I might wait... nevermind I have a sub.

I really hoped I'd liker her, but my initial reaction is that I don't.

    I agree. She looks cheap.

She looks like one ticked off woman!

Yeah, I think she's cool. My favorite details are the silver accents on her clothing. And, I prefer the longer staff...

I'm REALLY hoping she'll follow the same timeline as Zodac/Zodak. Classic release early in the year, 200X release later that SAME YEAR!

She looks great, I have no complaints. Screech looks pretty well equipped with the helmet and stand. Hopefully Mattel can fit in those accessories with a future release for Zoar.

    Wow...I'm REALLY disappointed with Evil-Lyn.

Her facepaint was much better in the prototype picture. In the new one, her eyes look really surprised and something's off about her mouth.

The metallic paint instead of the light blue looks bad, in my opinion.

Finally, the biggest difference: her crystal ball is a completely new sculpt. What the heck? Larger ball = good. The larger rings are VERY bad. It looks particularly odd with the small wand. It looks better on the big staff, but they ruined the small wand, which I preferred.

Seriously, look at the before and after:

I'm so sad. When everyone was hating on Evil-Lyn, I loved her and stood up for her. Now I'm extremely let down. She looked SO much better before. I'll have to repaint one now or something.

Here's a comparison picture I made to show the differences:

I too am excited for Evil-Lyn, the face sculpt still doesn't look the same as the ToyFare image (IMO). The last pic on ToyNewsI looks just like the image from ToyFare.

However, I thought Adora looked bad in the pics Mattel released, but once she arrived, she is by far the most amazing female so far.

I am hoping Evil Lyn looks much better in person, as Adora did.

Wow, I think she looks great, total babe! I think she will look better when put in some not so vanilla poses. I like the 200x color scheme a little more, but am happy to get any version of her.

I agree with you on all three points. The only thing I didn't like about the proto was the staff, but it looked like it would be ok as a wand so I didn't care.

At the end ofthe day, I can live with these changes, but they are not improvements.

Thanks for agreeing with me. I too can live with what's happened...but why the changes? That's what I want to know. They completely retooled the crystal ball part. It looks like they're using the left-over paint from Trap-Jaw on Evil-Lyn... Is this another money-saving choice?

Very excited about this figure-- although I wish she was a little more sultry looking and a little less angry looking. She's got a bit of a wide frog mouth.

I figured out what makes her look so vastly different facially:

    1. Eye colour. Not even close to the same. It was like a hunter's green (think forest) with like...black outlining the circle. Now it's lime green with a black dot as the iris and no black outlining. Also, she originally had TWO tone eyeshadow. The green she currently has and a darker green right above the eye, which is now gone.

    2. Lips. Originally deeper pink with a metallic pink outline. Now they are just a solid light pink with no outline.

I think Mattel needs to be VERY careful about showing the hand-painted prototypes. If they are noticeably better than the production versions, then people tend to disappointed and frustrated FAST.

This exact problem has plagued Sideshow Collectibles for years! And, believe me, it has done them NO favors with the collecting community.

If you're making a mass market figure and it looks different than that proto pics, then that's kind of expected. But, if you're making a $20 "Collectors' Figure" that you sell direct from your website, then we expect the kind of quality shown in the prototype photos.

True. Teela and Adora both have great detailed eyes though. I don't understand why they removed all the detailing off them (and her lips). She looked much more beautiful and less creepy than she does now. The changes make her look...hideous. she was an evil beauty with a scowl before. Now she's frowning because she knows she's ugly.

Her face paint was better in the prototype, but I think Evil-Lyn still looks pretty wicked in these photos!

About the wand/staff -- I was under the impression that we would be getting both versions; baby blue and shiny dark blue. Oh well.

How could they miss showing the bio?! Ahhhh!
