2002 Mallek w/ Sunsoar

Mallek, of the House of Stone Mountain, was a childhood friend of Teela and Adam, having attended schooling at the City of Wisdom with both. Much to Adam's chagrin, Mallek and Teela engaged in a brief childhood romance until they were separated when Mallek returned to Stone Mountain to complete his training by his mother, Cybelyne, a master sorceress.

The childhood friends were reunited when Mallek and his mother came to the Palace Eternia as Cybelyne answered a call to engage in peace talks between the two Kingdoms.

That fateful day was the same as when Skeletor and his Evil Warriors escaped from behind the Mystic Wall and attacked Eternos and the Royal Palace.

Cybelyne and her son fought bravely as part of the defenses of the Masters, but tragedy struck when Mallek's mother was struck down by Skeletor himself in a climatic duel that all who witnessed say was nothing less than awe inspiring.

Shocked and horrified at witnessing his mother's murder, Mallek, at Cybelyne's dying words, ran to the Royal Court to protect Queen Marlena who was in the direct path of Skeletor's forces.

Mallek would have made his mother proud as the young sorcerer fought fiercely against no less than three skeleton warriors, and even briefly dueled Evil-Lyn, until Skeletor broke through his mystic shield, the only thing seperating Marlena and he from the dark forces.

Fortunately, it was time enough for the surprised Masters to regroup and make the save before either Mallek or Marlena could suffer further.

Following that day's battle, and Randor's return to the Palace after He-Man's rescue, Cybelyne was laid to rest and given full honors.

Mallek himself became a ward of the Court, but more so, he was rewarded mightily for his bravery. For his defense of the Queen, King Randor decreed the young mage as the official Mystic Bodyguard of Queen Marlena.

At his side, is his friend and companion, the pureblood griffin, Sunsoar.
