Optikk finally arrived! How does the first "New Adventures" character fair?
Enjoy! And as always, I'll do my best to answer any additional questions!

Great review, as always, Dan.
The figure, however, is...ugh.
I detest NA designs and this one is no different.
That being said, I'm happy for the NA fans to get some of the characters in this line that they like. I can endure the occasional NA and POP horror if it means getting more Vintage and 200x!
That's the real strength of this line... We might not all like every figure (God knows, I don't!), but every fan can find something that they DO like.
Now, come on Keldor!!!!!!
Thanks again Dan for taking the time to put these up for us.

I would have to say it was a good review, not great... I was waiting and waiting for a mention of what is probably the most dramatic change to a line "standard" since it started: the new "loin cloth" piece. How does this new piece look all around, does it affect articulation at all, does it look awkward from any angles or in any poses (the way some of the "skirts" on the female figures can)... I feel like there was a big miss in not mentioning this piece of the figure.
Fine review, and I'm glad it got to be posted in time.
I have questions. That plate covering his abdomen -- does it block his articulation in the ab crunch? Also, most Classics figures have ball-jointed heads, but Optikk seems like he can't look up or down due to the chest plate being in the way of any movement except side-to-side. Am I right? Does he have more neck freedom if you put his head on without the chest armor?

Great review Dan! I'm excited to see more diversity in the line with NA figures! Although He-Man does look a bit out of place standing next to him for some reason. Maybe if it was BA He-Man instead? IDK. (a NA He-Man would rule!)
This line is just getting started and I can't wait to fill out the ranks more!

Hey, Pixel Dan ! You forgot to mention that Optikk's crotch piece is actually what will be used for Man-E-Faces and Roboto too !
Just an omission, I'm sure...![]()
Anticipating him so much.
Which eye do you guys like better?
Great review! The Mosquitor thing gave me a huge laugh!
I have a question that you've probably already addressed somewhere else, and you probably will have to address many times on this thread. In fact, you may want to consider editing it into the original post, when you answer.
What's the e.t.a. on Tytus?
Thanks for your work, I really love to get to see these things so early. I must say, that my favorite part is usually the still shots with other characters, which there seems to be less and less of these days. Not a complaint, just an encouraging boost for more of these great action poses that you do. It's good to see a reviewer who is clearly excited about this awesome line, and not just a toy reviewer, doing his job. Keep up the great work!![]()

I am going to use the orange one... in my opinion, the green has a "good" look to it, while the orange looks more sinister. Not being familiar with NA originally, I initially thought he was a heroic warrior when the first pics showed him with a green eye. It wasn't until it was mentioned he was a space mutant that I realized he wasn't on the side of the angels.![]()
An excellent quote right there, my firned!
This is a good point, and to be honest it's something that I didn't really pay much attention to. I knew it was a new piece, and I posed him around but it slipped my mind to even mention it when I sat down to record the review.
The piece does not seem to hinder articulation in the legs at all. I was having no problems with the stances I was putting him in. I will take a closer examination at this when I get home tonight and post here what else I find. Sorry guys!
The plate does not seem to hinder articulation too bad, as it actually stops underneath the ab cut. So he can still bend there. BUT, the armor itself does hinder that articulation. You're not going to get much bend with it on.
The armor does hinder the eye movement. You are really only going to get a side to side movement. Otherwise, it is ball jointed. I wills ee if I can get some shots of the eye posed with the armor off.
ToyGuru just told me a day ago or so that Tytus was just approved for PR, and will be sent out "sometime before he goes on sale in May." That's the best I can offer. As soon as I have him, I will get right to work on the review!

Good review as always Dan. I was very curious about the ab piece and you answered that question. I kept thinking what other piece would go with other figures.
I'm very impressed with the armor piece. It does open possiblities for more figures and I like how creative the 4H are getting. Optikk to me is a clear example of how skilled the 4H have gotten with the MOTU.
Now, about Tytus....
You just read a post from the head Honcho of Nerds On A Couch!
Great job Dan - as always! Loved the last bit![]()
Good review, Pixel D. I like that dungeon room you got going there with the mood lighting where you gave your in-depth talk. I wonder how many individuals had to put the lotion on their skins in that place...
But an informative piece nonetheless. Personally, I will be using the green eyeball with the orange-red flames.

Optikk : Best MOTUC figure so far.
For goodness sake, make Pixel Dan a Mosquitor figure, Matty!![]()
I'm hoping for a Disco Skeletor for the next subscription exclusive! Fully flocked!

New Adventures is Dan's cup of tea.
Perhaps less so for you and for me.
What we might like instead:
A repaint with Sly's head --
Demolition Man figures maybe?

Very Very Very awesome as usual !!!!!
ToyGuru should consider a figure of Pixel-Dan for the next SDCC !!! A special one with some "Hey Guys !" when you shake or press on it ! I would buy it !![]()
Great review as usual PD!! I'm really looking forward to Optikk!!
200X fan? Classic fan? What does that mean? I'm a MotU fan!!!
Thanks, as always, for the review, Dan. Its definitely cool to see how different a re-paint of trapjaw can look with new armor and head sculpted on. I never was much of a NA fan, but I agree that this figure came out really well and I am looking forward to him.
Sticking with the green eye, myself, I think.
Photog is here! thank you, Mattel!
Now how about some mini-comics love (like Lodar, Geldor, Dakon......)? And Mermista?
I really like the way Pixel Dan inserted the synthesized version of the original MOTU theme in his opening.
Good job!
