UPDATED: SDCC Fan Get-together!

The fan get-together will start at
6pm
on Friday, July 23rd,
at Hennessey's (click here for bar info and location).

I've confirmed with everyone I can at this point, and we're close to 50 Orgers.
Those who are confirmed know how to identify yourself at the get together. This is important, so don't forget!!!
It's really important for the bar and serving staff,
and it also dictated how much Emiliano and I paid for the room!

For those who did not confirm with me over PM,
you are still welcome to come to the get together! But you have to pay your own way in.

We can't wait to see everyone there!

There are other SDCC based threads, but I wanted to do an organization one to map out plans.

Part of the He-Man.org team will be there!
Who else here will be attending San Diego Comic Con?
and, for what days?

When you're there, will you be buying MOTU exclusives?
Will you be attending the Matty panel?
etc.

I think it would be great if we all know where we'll cross paths.

A big reason for this post is in the hopes we can organize another big fan get together, down at a bar or something after the show.
The fan dinner in SDCC is next to impossible with a large group of people and how busy the restaurants are. So getting together for drinks (doesn't have to be booze!) would be best IMO.

For me personally, I wasn't going to go to SDCC this year, but Emiliano talked me into it.
Generally I'm a wall flower at stuff like this and kind of disappear, or stay pretty quiet when I'm around groups of people.
But I'm gonna try to come out of my shell this year. (in other words, if you see me, please say "hi!" and get me talking)

So please post here and let everyone know your MOTU SDCC plans!

I will be there, along with the rest of the PCN gang! This will be our first experience with SDCC, but we're going to cover the event for the site. Which means we'll be BUSY as all heck!

But, I'll definitely be getting the Mattel exclusive, I'll be attending the Panel, and will be getting plenty of footage from the Mattel booth for everyone! I also plan to talk with TG while there.

I would definitely love to meet up with people here! We should organize some sort of get together. I know I'll be super busy doing updates, but I'll gladly try to make sure I have time to just chill and hang out with people!

I'll be there for all of it, including Preview Night.

I wish I was able to go this year not just to get color changing Orko for my kids but to hear the panels. I think it would be nice to meet some MOTU fans in person.

The org really did a great job last year updating those of us who couldn't make it so I'll thank you all in advance for all the info you post.

I've gone the past couple of years and the panel is always a lot of fun. I'm even beginning to recognize people from one year to the next. While waiting in line for the exclusives isn't great, it is nice to get to know the people around you.

I'll be there all four days and would be up for a get-together. My friends and I have no plans after The Con ends for the day.

If you're going, please say what days you'll be there,
or if you'll be there the whole show,

and if you'd be up for a fan get-together one night (probably the night after the panel would be ideal).

wish I could go. Spend too much money on MOTUC sadly..lol. I look forward to seeing the reviews and thank whoever I can find in advance for getting me the pair of Orkos I need.

I'll be there like every year Preview Night through Saturday. I'll be picking up exclusives and attending the panel.

I wish I was going again this year, but planning our wedding and a busy work schedule will prevent me. (I'm not exactly rich, anyhow.)

Last year was a blast; I went with my Dad, and we had a great time. I was a bit disappointed when you informed me that you wouldn'tbe there, though, Val. I also went to the Chicago Con the year of Keldor (when was that, again?) and I was lucky enough to meet you there and enjoyed speaking with you. (I'm not expecting you to remember, but I thought you'd like to know. ) The "Evil-Lyn" model signed a copy of an MVC comic for me, too!

I hope all of you who do attend have a great experience. Good luck getting the exclusives! Don't waste all your time in lines, though! Take lots of pictures for us, take notes, film as much as you can, and be safe!

I will be there with my family on Thursday. I will be buying Orko, Mol-lar, Plastic Man, and possibly the Starro set from Mattel. My kids want to buy some of the Transformers exclusives. We will be leaving right after we attend to go to Anaheim. It will be a very busy few days for us!

Yes I will be there as I always am for the past two decades, all 5 days. We've meet before Val, even took a picture with you (years ago). Same for Emiliano every year, as well as Josh "Lioncourt" his Father, and Leanne "Stratos" Shaw and her husband.

I will surely be at the Mattel booth numerous times, as well as the panel as I always am. Hope to see more of you there. It is always great seeing the faces and hearing the voices to go with the words I read daily.

I started going three years ago when I moved to San Diego..I will NEVER miss SDCC again...LOVE IT...

Definitively buying anything MOTU or Gi Joe related, and gonna hit all the panels..
I think a get together with other motu fans would be a FREAKIN awesome idea..

I'd love to be going and even more than that to be meeting up with the other fans especially you awesome Roast Gooble Dinner guys...

But I can't with my busy work schedule and theres also that I'm here in London most of the time...

If I can though I'm going to get someone to get me one Orko/Adam exclusive.

I'll be going, just Sunday, going with a group of my "geek" friends who are all into different things, G.I. Joe, Comics, Gentle Giant nonsense and the like, so a big get together might not be in the cards but I'll be @ the Mattel booth for 1/4 of the day if anyone wants to talk shop and meet there. Hasbro booth 1/4, then other shopping 1/4 and then panels 1/4, usually all the good ones are reserved for Friday and Saturday but I hope I get a good one this year.

I'll have a table in Artist's Alley all con (promoting my new comic) and would love to attend a get-together.

I'll be trying to get some MOTUC exclusive stuff, but a lot of that will depend on what is going on with my colleagues and how far I can be away from the table.

Id love to go, and get at least one MOTU Orko, and Prince Adam, but me and my wife have our first child on the way, so I have my priorities that I must attend to. Anyone out there picking up extras for anyone I tell myself every year...one day ill go to SDCC

I can't go the SDCC because the passes sold out before I noticed so there is no way for me to go.

I would however like to attend the get-together if you have one, unless that is only for people who are going to SDCC.

I'll be there Wednesday through Monday! I'd like to come to the panel, but I learned a few years ago to play ComicCon by ear until it actually happens, so if there is something else going on during or just after (gotta camp!) then I may miss it.

I'm down for a meet up as well. It seems to me the best times would be Thursday or Friday after the main shows close (around 8 or so if I recall correctly). Gives everyone a chance to do what they want to do.

I'll be there on Thursday, and I'd love to at least say hi to everyone.
