i would love to see you redesign spydra from the episode "return of orko's uncle" and have her be a female member of webstor's race. i think she would look really sweet that way

Interesting idea, but I see them as separate characters. There are a couple of ladies throughout MOTU that have the cobra staves, so I see it as one of two or three and not the same one. That said, Zilora's is probably the same staff that Teela later carries because so much time passes between them.

The leader of the Council of Elders/Ancients (the exact terminology had not been developed back then) in the MOTU UK comics. He appeared as a vision or spirit in several issues to offer the heroes aid, and he always had that rockin' hat!

Same here. Everytime I log on, this is the section and thread that I check first.

I'm loving how GBAGOK merged the looks of 200X and Vintage Hiss. Showing him as a Prince is awesome back story.
    200X Power Sword, 200X Toon, 200X Continuity.... Yeah, it's all about 200X!!

    Time for some more!

    Cool. Very cool.
It's great being Lord of the Thundercats - especially hanging out with Cheetara - but the one draw back is that He-Man can still beat me up.

These are fun to read. The artwork/redesigns are great! I always enjoy seeing your artwork. I like your cohesive vision of the MOTU world and I also like that you are working in more of the Filmation, MVCreations and UK comics mythology than Matty does (in addition to 200X, Classics, minicomics, and your own material). Your blending of the various mythologies is much smoother than what I've seen in the Mattel bios IMO. Nicely done! I look forward to keeping up with your updates here.

I'm a little late in commenting, but I've really been enjoying this thread, especially the last batch of characters you posted. I like how the bios incorporate elements of MotUC as well as other canons (including the one you and oICEMANo have been creating).

Prince Hiss is very nicely done, using something closer to his vintage costume as a past look, while still incorporating some MYP elements. I'm particularly fond of your rendition of his shield - not sure exactly why, I think it's the color/lighting.

Good to see Carnivus as well; he's one of my favorite 200x-era characters.

I like how your style is developing away from something strictly MYP and toward something more distinct, as well.

Anyway, I love seeing updates on this thread - keep up the good work.

Thanks, everyone! Here are some more to tide us over for the next few weeks. I'm glad the mix and match approach to the canons is appealing to some folks! 200X is more or less my preferred design era, but I also prefer to be all-inclusive with the cast and information!

Reading Marlena's bio... is that a Where no man has gone before reference? Though the Valiant in that episode was destroyed exploring the barrier at the edge of the Galaxy, not the center... Ugh, Star Trek V flashback for the center one...

Wow, great memory, Sandman! It's mostly a reference to Eternia being at the center of the universe. The Valiant was the name of Marlena's ship in "Teela's Quest," but it was the Rainbow Explorer in "The Rainbow Warrior," so I incorporated both. I actually liked Trek 5 though, I'm that lost.

Ask any of the fellows in the chat, I'm a terrifying mass of pop culture trivia. I totally understand the center of the universe reference, it makes perfect sense in the context of the Star Seed storyline from "the Search".

Odd question, have you read the Marvel UK version of Marlena's arrival? I'm quite fond of it, even if it is wildly dissonant with the Filmation version -and- the DC mini-series version.

No comments on Trek V, let's agree to never mention it again.
