I am looking for these Marvel Legends figures
My marketplace feedback
I like the artwork styling, and I always like crossovers. But, I've never been a fan of HE-MAN stories where Skeletor just kills everyone.
Seems like shock value for the sake of shock value.
I love it.
I look forward to seeing how you meld a Super Evil Skeletor story with Voltron.
Anxiously awaiting part 4 to see what happens.
I take it the Lion Force pilots are either under Skeletor's control or not present at all?
I hope it is evil warriors operating Voltron!

I have to agree with most others: the Voltron thing is meh, but up until then I thought it was the greatest Skeletor show since ever and the way I always imagined him unleashed. Thanks.
I'm all for breaking the mold or not being politically correct & all, but from this to go from gory to Voltron has just made it "jump the shark" for me...
To be honest I'm surprised the mods let the gore in this go...
There is a fine line that can be walked were things can be impressively violent or somewhat shocking (God Of War, movies like Kill Bill, Kick @$$, & Watchmen come to mind) but now I think the line of graphic & strange has just been crossed.
Sorry, like the art, but the story just seems a bit over the top in the wrong direction imho...

so...you actually think the site moderators should have removed my humble little comic here? sheesh...
again...i guess im still a little suprised at the reaction to voltron. i mean...Skeletor more than a few times brought some giant super bad ass monster to grayskull in an attempt to get inside. so this is just him doing the same thing... but.. the suprise..is its another super awesome character from another classic 80's Tv cartoon that many of us watched.
either way... i hope you all like how it progresses in the final 9 PAGES which will be up soon all at once...so we can have the entire comic issue one done and wrapped up. thanks again to all who replied.

wow, i was loving it ... he-man got his damn hand blown off ... very star wars .... and then, like a sunday drive with toonces at the wheel .... BOOM.

Part of the problem may be the style. Voltron is a very child-like design, and I don't mean that in a simplistic or condescending way, but it's multi-coloured metal lions, and the two styles don't mesh well.
You've adultacised (that's a word, honest...) MOTU by tearing people apart, and then suddenly brought in the giant metal rainbow-coloured cat-robot. To suddenly see Voltron like that in that frame with no warning is a bit like you drawing Skeletor bringing in a big Tonka truck to dump gravel on Grayskull.
That, for me anyway, is why I was rapidly jerked out of that story.
I agree with Alexx.
I don't mind soemone mixing it up a little. I LOVE the art, and adding the bit of gore is right up my alley. I think it's great Skelly went to get more power, and came back with a bichin' robot! I laughed too. It's funny. Unexpected, but funny.
I would really love to see the other "weapons" Skelly acquired in his travels. Would love to see a picture of Skelly removing Lion-O's severed hand from the Claw-Shield, or using the Sun Sword (Thundarr). That would be great!
C'mon guys, if you can accept this new smarter, eviler, more brutal of a Skeletor, compared to the poor-planning idiot he was in Filmation, why is it hard to accept Voltron into the storyline?
"The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe, is that none of it has tried to contact us." -B.W.
ha...!!! thats so funny the way you put that. kinda makes the point better than the way others have tried.. with the "giant metal rainbow-coloured cat-robot". that DOES make it seem kinda silly. and i love the Tonka truck idea. im TOTALLY doing that now.
no..seriously.. im starting to see what people are saying. i guess what im hoping is that people see that im just trying a version of Heman thats more serious and leaving behind the "Silly" parts... and i plan on doing the same thing with the introduction of Voltron here. ive tried to SLIGHTLY alter the design to make it work better, cause YES...the design is childish in a lot of ways. but i want the VOLTRON to be a more intimidating version as well. i hope it works out that way in the end.

to be honest..i HAVENT read a lot (nor..almost ANY) fanfic stories, so...if what you are saying is true.. that people do this "skeletor kills everyone" story a lot.. i really had no idea. i havent followed the stuff like that. so its a good point that maybe this has been done already. all i can hope for is that maybe mine will be of a quality that sets it apart.. and maybe it will end up in a place where people can say "not bad... interesting"...or..even better.. "i liked it!!" there will be plenty that say " F you buddy..you ruined it. it sucked!!" and thats okay.
but i thank you for your thoughts man
rob
how did he post back to back like that without it all ending up in 1 post? .... that's crazy.
Religion = The Horde
Atheism = The Great Rebellion
i like the art.
i like that you're trying to do something different and unexpected with the story by pulling out all the stops on skeletor being a serious evil power and then introducing that he now posesses voltron. it's not a horrible idea. voltron fought magical beasts conjurred up by a witch and mixed with technology. isn't that motu? is it inconceivable that skeletor found his way to the voltron universe and out matched the magic there, and then conquered that world defender?
what's killing this story for me is all the negativity. if you don't like what you see, change the channel. let this guy do what he wants to do without telling him he's doing it wrong, before you even see what he has planned.
i for one would like to see whats next, and i hope you don't let the nay sayers derail your creativity. when i was a kid, i would include voltron, transformers, etc in my motu play. it was raw imagination and the beginnings of my own creativity. i remember acting out the entire swampthing film with motu figures. haha! there is no right or wrong. this isn't motu cannon. it's not the bible. like it or walk away, but i hate when people have to try to grind someone down just because it's not what they like or want. that's like what they do to kids in school now, in art classes, for the schools that still have an art program... they tell kids what the project has to be, with little or no room to be spontanious and freely creative. imagination, creativity and doing things that are unexpected or even "wrong" is a good thing. no one has the right to scuff "stop. color in the lines".
keep rolling bro. i can't wait to see how it ends.

hey..thanks man. i really appreciate you saying that. you get what i was going for 100% and thats awesome.
but i also want to say that i have zero problem if people DONT like this. i mean..im kinda suprised at how much folks are kinda put off by it. like i said before..i just kinda assumed that everyone would think it was as cool as i did. PLUS... im also hoping that seeing the end of the issue (not the end of the story..just this issue) will make people maybe like it more.
but its okay if people dont like it. you guys here are all just great MOTU fans and we all have opinions. its not like the guys over on the John Byrne forums which have fallen into personal insults about me over this silly little thing. those guys have lost their minds over this. but im totally happy here with you folks.
however..i am thrilled when someone "gets it" the way i intended...

Nemesis, it was a constructive crit. Well I'll say mine was. If I just said, god that was crap, why bother... then yeah fair play.
Artists need crits to improve. People just saying, wow that was awesome is great and appreciated, but doesn't help you in the long run.
I guess its all about balance. I love the artwork, but feel that the Voltron ref was jarring to the overall tone of the story. This doesn't mean i wanthim to stop drawing, and I'm curious to see how it pans out.
From what I've read from others, they feel the same way.

Art's Ok.
Story's a trainwreck. Waaay too much gore. Overpowered Skeletor (if he's this much powerful, why does he need power of Grayskull?). Voltron's appearance... makes the whole thing go too far into the fanwank zone.
Everyone makes mistakes. But if no one points them out, people will keep making them. Mindless praise nor "Shut up and like it!" do not help at all. Honest opinion does, no matter how harsh.

Brings doom to MOTUC with cel accuracy.
Well, I LIKE IT!
I also think calling something a mistake or wrong because you don't like it is a bit arrogant.

Well I think adding Voltron was a mistake. You had this great build up with Skeletor releasing unrelenting fury and then getting to the castle where he reveals that he has brought some great power from another dimension to help topple it. Then it is revealed and it is...Voltron? It just felt like a let down.
Now if he had brought someone like Cthulhu or another Lovecrfatian deity then that would have been cool, and would also help explain how he suddenly got so powerful
this also gets me thinking... and im wondering what others would think about this idea. but as far as him being "suddenly so powerful"...all i have had him do was shoot energy beams from his hands/eyes and demonstrate physical strength. but is that really so far from what he did in the cartoon anyway? we watched him tussle with He-man a lot and while obviously not nearly as strong as him, it would have had to made him KINDA strong, hence him ripping his minions apart. and im PRETTY sure he shot energy out his eyes and hands on the show too. (i only have the first half of season one on DVD as reference, and i admit i could be wrong) but if he had these energy projection powers...i would say all i have had him doing in just using them in a more leathal way. its not a super power boost. just him making different choices. like.. i never say how.. but he DOES know somehow that Adam is He-man, and he doesnt allow adam to make the transformation, which makes him a bigger threat.
so again...the idea was that he was making smarter choices after his fit of rage that had him kill his warriors.
and as far as him needing grayskull.. it was always said that it contained "secrets" and "power" that would let him control the universe. i think thats always something an evil villian would seek to possess.
anyhoo....its early.. im tired...

Voltron showing up is a little insane. However, it is your story and you can have Cobra Commander show up wearing a tutu and using Megatron's head as helmet if you want.
Voltron showing up was shocking and out of left field, but go for it man.

No, buy saying eating lamb is wrong because you don't like is.
And that is what some did; "gore is wrong because I do not like it"
That is arrogant or shortsighted.
Most of the crits were feedback on what they think how the comic might improve in their opinion and that is the way it should be.
