Hi, Skeletor Animation Test

Hey Guys, I am new to the forum. I am a huge fan of MOTU.

I used to draw comic books and work as a concept artists at various places. I also have a background in film.

This skeletor vid. was just a short test of Anime Studio Pro's capabilities. Even for testing I could not refrain from Masters of the Universe.

The video also gave me an idea to possibly do an episode or two. Not sure how it would work, but I did hear that filmation had some scripts written for the series that were never produced. Hmmm..

Anyway, check the video out and enjoy. It is short, but it was more of a test of what the program can do which is cool. If you like the video I have few more tests of skeletor talking and stuff that I can post up.

Really short but promising, i just think the hood is to far back when he turns.

Oh, I did not even create the whole character. I just sketched him out quickly just to play with the features. Thanks

I think I will probably do one episode for myself since it makes me happy. . If I could get a hold of the scripts I wouldn't mind doing them and even collaborating with other members here.

Anyone have any idea if those are online at all? Or, did I just hear wrong on the MOTU documentaries.

Busta Toons released a book recently that might have some cool info to do this.

I will be creating a small animated preview. It is the story I had in mind for the new MOTU film.

Of course and you are welcome, that´s what previews are for to see if everything is the way you want it and please show us more. i would like to see new stuff!!!

Got finished with the script and the story boards. Not the tidiest of things, but they do the job. If anyone is interested I'll post them up. For now, I am working on the backgrounds and characters.

If you can use Filmation backgrounds on those animation shorts, that'd be awesome!

Anime Studio is always a great to test out. Great work. Have you ever given Toon Boom a thought?

I've worked with toon boom and I like it. However, Anime Studio just feels more intuitive and the workflow is better (IMO).

If you guys have any bg's from filmation stuff I'd love to be able to use it.
I will need castle grayskull, the abyss, outside shot of the palace and any interiors of the palace.

This looks great The quality of movement is very, very good.

I never worked with Anime Studio so I'm not sure about the formats & how the work process looks like but I have some animations that you may find useful:

The animations are mostly He-Man walking in different perspectives but there are also few other things. Animations are in gif format & tga format (game sprites). Stills are in jpg. If you are interested/can use some of this material I can also send you my original frames (bigger resolution) in what ever format you need (tga, bmp, jpg...).

I will keep it english here just so everyone understands whats going on

Check out my thread about the animation that I started. Its in the same section. It shows all the frames that I have been working on.

So far I have a beast man walking cycle, Skeletor climbing, Trap Jaw's walk cycle and bunch of expressions and mouth movements.
The reason the movement is good is because I use the Anime Studio Pro bone rigging system. Then I track every third to fourth frame to a Video of the movement. I usually shoot the movement on my pro HD 1080p Canon so I have a great resolution to follow. I will also use some of the filmation movements to keep the show looking close to it.
