thanks Irian! great to have this timeline.
cool work!
thanks Irian! great to have this timeline.
cool work!
A new Motu line, again at last!
Thanks everyone for the kind words. It's greatly appreciated!
OK, the bio for Icarius reveals that the original version of the timeline was correct and the Second Ultimate Battleground happened BEFORE the New Adventures. Which means back to the drawing board.
As a first step I have updated the timeline with bio information from SDCC. Please comment on the restructuring. Thanks.
In addition: If anyone can shed any light on the story of the new minicomic and what it reveals for the new timeline, please contact me. I don't want to completely rewrite the timeline and then realize it's contradicted by information already out there.
I tried to incorporate the info from the minicomic that it is the New Sorceress (Teela) that sends He-Man to Preternia.

Thanks for all your hard work with this timeline! It makes you realise just how epic the MOTU story is!
1) Mini-Comic
OK. I have tried to incorporate everything from the mini comic into the new timeline (the defeat of Serpos, Man-At-Arms being turned into a Snake-Man after the death of the Sorceress, Skeletor following He-Man back in time).
I would greatly appreciate it if people could check if the timeline still works.
2) She-Ra, Princess of Power
I have trouble finding the right spot for Adam traveling to Etheria to give Adora her sword. In the previous version, there didn't seem to be enough time for the adventures of She-Ra to happen on Etheria. Therefore I repositioned that "chapter". It is now before "The Rise of the Snakemen". Please let me know what you think about that, as well.
Thanks!
Oh I can't wait to see that mini-comic!
The POP Rebellion stuff is hard to pin down at the minute as like you say their doesn't seem to be enough time for it. But I really don't think it happens before "The Rise of the Snakemen". They're sticking to the MYP/200x timeline for the most part and I think they will with this which means it must be after "The Rise of the Snakemen".
I'm going to stick with my speculation in my last post that the Sorceress sends He-Man to Despondos to rescue Randor and also gives him the sword of protection to take with him, saying his quest will not only lead him to Randor but also to the rightful owner of the sword.
This is when the "Adora learns of her true heritage" and both Adam and "Adora joins the Great Rebellion" stuff happens.
Meanwhile back on Eternia,
Skeletor uses Faker to pose as and discredit He-Man while he is on Etheria then defeats The Masters and takes over Eternia.
The Masters who are now renegades in there own land are lead by Teela, Clamp Champ and Queen Marlena in the absence of He-Man, Man-At-Arms and Randor.
The Horde are free by Evil Lyn, defeat Skeletor (by Hordak using his Hurricane armor) taking over Eternia and force the remaining Snake-men (now lead by Rattlor while Hsss is regenerating) into hibernation.
He-Man and She-Ra with several of her friends and allies return to Eternia to help fight the Horde.
Skeletor gains the power to defeats his former master Hordak, who them retreats to Etheria and She-Ra follows him. This is when the POP adventures happen for the most part. But when Hordak was freed from Despondos by Evil-Lyn, he was able to make her portal permanent and as such is now a threat to both Etheria and Eternia. The Mastser's and Etherian Rebellion also have the Grayskull portal so can also travel freely between the two worlds.
My last post then continues as I posted it:
He-Man and the Masters defeat Skeletor and retakes Eternia.
With the motivation to save Man-At-Arms, He-man knows the Snake-men are going to return one day and he needs to defeat them once and for all. This is where he goes back in time to Preternia and discovers the secret to defeating the SnakeMen.
Its a bit of a mess until we get more bio's and I know mine is a bit of speculation mainly based on what MYP had planned.

This is awesome.... One question on the chronology though. The banishment of Keldor from the Eternian Palace... Shouldn't that happen AFTER Randor and Keldor team up to defeat Marzo?

I disagree. We don't know one way or the other, but think that they story works better if he's banished earlier, has time to wander, learn magic, meet people like Evil Lyn, beastman, etc. Then he comes home in a time of need to unite with his brother bringing his new knowledge and power to the table expecting to be welcomed with open arms, but he still isn't, even after helping to defeat Marzo.
Then in anger, maybe to try and reclaim his birthright he betrays Randor (the betrayal referred to in Randor's bio) starting the conflict between them.
I think this is correct, and it's basically where I always had it as well. Although they are using many elements from the MYP story, giving some time to the whole 'battles with Skeletor' period makes sense from a vintage perspective. Then he goes to Etheria and it gives some time for the main POP story to occur, while He-man et al. are dealing with the Snakemen. Later the Horde come to Eternia starting the 4-way battle. (I guess 5 if you count She-ra as a separate faction - look at that, our very own battle of five armies!)

Well, from the mini comic we know that when He-Man begins his travel back through time
- Serpos has been defeated quite some time ago
- The Masters are renegades
- King Skeletor has been overthrown by Hordak
- The Horde, Skeletor's Evil Warriors and the Snakemen are all around and fighting the Renegade Masters
- Teela is now the Sorceress (and this has happened quite recently)
- King Miro and King Randor have just returned
- The Three Towers have just risen
We also know that Man-At-Arms has been turned into a Snake-Man after whatever happened to the old Sorceress. So, it is quite helpful for *some* of the story elements.
As Croaker said I put it where it is because it would make a good story if the team-up happened after the banishment. The banishment of Keldor from the Eternian Palace... Shouldn't that happen AFTER Randor and Keldor team up to defeat Marzo?
But it's difficult to say at the moment.![]()
Very nice timeline! That must have taken a lot of time to put together!
For the Honor, for the Glory, for the Power of GRAYSKULL!!!

Thanks, guys! Without writing this down I would be totally lost. It's quite a sprawling mess ... em ... I mean: an epic tale!![]()
I really want to read that mini-comic and its ages until Thunder Punch HM is realeased
Based on what you've said is in the mini-comic then I'd move my entry:
"With the motivation to save Man-At-Arms, He-man knows the Snake-men are going to return one day and he needs to defeat them once and for all. This is where he goes back in time to Preternia and discovers the secret to defeating the SnakeMen."
to inbetween:
"He-Man and She-Ra with several of her friends and allies return to Eternia to help fight the Horde."
"Skeletor gains the power to defeats his former master Hordak, who them retreats to Etheria and She-Ra follows him. This is when the POP adventures happen for the most part. But when Hordak was freed from Despondos by Evil-Lyn, he was able to make her portal permanent and as such is now a threat to both Etheria and Eternia. I think we'd also have to change the "knows the snakemen are going to return..." because they never left. They are actively fighting at this point. I believe that earlier posters speculated on a 'defeat' of the snakemen, but I don't think that we have any evidence that this happens until the second ultimate battleground.
I was basing that bit on the line in Hurricane Hordak's bio that says he forced the remaining Snake-men into hibernation, implying that there was at least a partial defeat of the SnakeMen already, which I speculated could be the Skeletor's defeat over Hssss and the SnakeMen that MYP had planned for Season 2 part two, because these bio's seem to be sticking close to what MYP had planned.

this is why it's so difficult to make sense (or a timeline) out of what we've got so far in the bios because they are poorly written in a grammatical sense.
I thought maybe the snakemen thing actually happens much later - it wouldn't be the first time that they put two events that aren't sequential together in the same sentence, with the same verb tense in a bio.
But I see where you're coming from.
An amazing thread! Thank you for the work you've done!
For the honor of Grayskull!

Thanks! The rest of the year should be fairly quiet for the timeline. I don't expect too many new bio reveals (maybe the Sorceress in December).
Edit: BTW, if you have any suggestions for better chapter titles, please let me know.
Just a bump so that everyone knows this still exists![]()

I love this thread.
Apparently, I missed the part where several heroic warriors from Eternia (and Etheria?) join He-Man and She-Ra in space to fight Skeletor and his new mutant army.![]()
Etherian Rebel JOSH for the MOTUC (see my avatar)!
I've placed it as the last entry for the Second Ultimate Battleground. To me it sounded as if the events from BG Evil-Lyn's bio happen right at the end of the battle ("In the end...") .
It was mentioned in Icarius' bio. And I think It's really cool.
Maybe Skeletor also takes some of his henchmen with him?
EDIT:
Updated with info from POWER CON!
If you have any suggestions for changes please let me know.
