You know, honestly, I have no idea. I'm a fan of the dual wielding Tri-Klops and just didn't utilize it here. I must have had another thought path for him at the time that I simply can't remember. I'm still good with the one sword but I'm inclined to add a second now.

Okay folks, I've been working in-between Extendar and Moss Man (with Spikor close behind) but have decided to postpone them in the event of Christmas. What does that mean? Well, that means that I'm going to do up a small series of winter-y type characters. Now the question is... who? Give me some suggestions. Characters, beasts, common Eternian peonic monsters, non-humanoid creatures... I want to finish it off with a great beast though. I have a good idea of whom I could use for that... maybe.

I'd think that a Kulatak warrior would be an easy one, just make a new head for a whited-out version of the Beastman buck, or kill to birds with one stone and create a furry Grizzlor buck and use a white version of that for a Kulatak.

Kulatak would be one. Not sure about easy as I wouyld definitely redo some arms for them too. I was also thinking Icer and Frosta as well as an Ice Hacker as the big beast. Trolls and a Caterchiller would work well too.

Yeah any of the Ice folk would do... Icer, Frosta, Ice-A-Kil...

Maybe even King Grayskull with his Santa cape...

I don't love all the He-Man variants, but Ice Armor He-Man was pretty cool ... I can't wait to see your versions of Icer and Frosta. I don't know if I've ever seen a PoP character from you.

There are a few other fan-characters out there too, but I don't know if they would fall within the scope of your project here (Snowguard, Huk).

Hey Sllohcin, I love your work, like always. Of course, my favorites is the cartoony Mer-man underwater scene. When are you going to switch from doing a series of toy designs to a series of character models for a cartoon?

So it's time to start posting my small "wintery" series.

Starting with everybody's favourite snowman... Icer!

I see him as a clear cast toy. Completely transparent in production with a few painted pieces (like his armour tidbits and mildly frosted fur.)

I know the un-rendered one looks like crap but I like to include it with the basic black line art so that people can see the design in case shadows, etc. obscure things.

Now while I'd love for Icer to be one of Skeletor's main cronies, I just think he can't due to his "cold" nature/seeming dependency.

So with that written, I see him as a Mer-Man type that boasts ruling his own domain yet answers to Skeletor when needed simply because Skeletor is much more powerful.

Frosta or a beast will be posted tomorrow

While I most definitely agree that the smaller waist looks better for characters like He-Man (as I can clearly see the difference) I decided against going the "V" shape simply because it couldn't support my idea for bigger torsos for characters like Beast Man. I tried it. He looked quite weird. What's sort of awesome is that the original He-Man buck I did up looks almost exactly like what you did

You're also looking at a flat pic so it doesn't show that it would be rounding along the side just a tad... now that's not saying much as these designs ARE intended to be a bit thick for the purpose I stated. Chubby if you will. It's just that if you look at the rendered pic it doesn't seem as bad. I had to make the choice in design and I went the thicker path to allow a bit more versatility.

I guess I could have just gone with 2 styles of furry pants... meh, maybe next time

i understand where he is coming from, but your reasons are very valid, and i completely understand where you are going with this. its also, and choice in STYLE, in which you have designed toys simply to be "big all over" and a smaller waist would take away from the look, style, and if these would be figures i think that it would hinder the stability of them.

i would buy everysingle one of these for my little boy.

I bombed on my "wintery" characters idea but I'm getting curious about this project again.

Here's something I did up just before Icer.

Skeletor's core army builder characters. I totally wanted to something along the lines of Alcala monsters.

I call them Trolls (not sure what else to call them other than Trolls actually...) but they're much more in line with demon-y "Beast Men" whereas Beast Man himself is sort of like their Chief in a primal kind of way simply due to his powers and size. He's easily the strongest and smartest of the group (if that's saying much.)

I know Shadow Beasts will be/are bigger and stronger than Beast Man but they're just not as smart (compare mud to a 3 year old... the 3 year old is the smarter of the two.) Also, Beast Man has the advantage of just being crazy overpowered in that he can control almost all the creatures of low intelligence. I would doubt any bestial creature could challenge him for leadership.

I wanted to make the heads just slight variations of each other and wouldn't be opposed to a slew of colours too (hot colours though... like reds and oranges and yellows and everything in between.) 5 distinct colour variations would be more than enough and then imagine if all 5 heads all came in all 5 colours. LOTS of combinations at one's disposal.

I like the head with the wider horn set, like the orange/red color more as well.

Nice one Ric! I like the troll / Alcala-styled demon idea, it would make a great soldier caste for Skeletor's army!
