There has been some confusion recently regarding the “gray” area involving reproduction of Mattel’'s and Classic Media's original content,
including original casts/molds of vintage (and 200X) figures and weapons.
Please note the following guidelines before you discuss, link to or sell custom creations on He-Man.org:
Hand sculptures, 3D models, figure modifications & customs, kit-bashing and the like:
1. Fans cannot mass-recast any toy pieces to sell or give away that were or are currently being produced by Mattel or Classic Media for any official toy line or licensed product.
It does not matter if it's another color, etc, they cannot do it.
Even if it is given away for free, there might be some money exchanging hands on the side or folks might be doing "donations" which is essentially paying for it. This is not permitted.
2. Fans cannot discuss and/or link to any site, thread, etc where illegal bootlegging of the above type is taking place.
This also pertains to links in signatures.
You can talk about the items for the purpose of fan review, but you can't link to or talk about any place selling them.
3. Fans are permitted to discuss one-of-a-kind "art" pieces,
or to post about the sale of their own one-of-a-kind "art" pieces,
or to post links to sites selling one-of-a-kind "art" pieces,
as long as they are one-of-a-kind!
Posts must be about one-of-a-kind "art" pieces that reuse Mattel toy parts that were produced for previous or existing Mattel toy lines.
And all sale-related threads/posts must be made in the appropriate Marketplace forum, and any post selling such items must start with the line "Unofficial Fan Project" by itself at the top of the post.
In regards to these one-of-a-kind "art" pieces, the items can be of existing and previously unreleased characters, vehicles, locations, etc from Mattel or Classic Media packaging, cartoons, comics, books, etc as well as your own characters, vehicles, locations, etc,
in custom MOTU/POP/NA packaging, etc.
However, while posting about this is allowed on the He-Man.org forums, we are not saying the production is actually legal nor are we giving you permission to produce such items.
As in years prior, you always produce such customs at your own risk!
4. Fans are permitted to discuss mass produced custom items,
or to post about the sale of their own mass produced custom items,
or to post links to sites selling a mass produced custom items,
as long as they are completely original sculpts!
