A lot of these I added to the list just because the theme songs were so damn catchy(Pound Puppies, The Get Along Gang, My Pet Monster), but, as much as I love MOTU, it came down to G.I. Joe & Transformers. Those 2 are basically tied for me but, since I'm not a big Transformers fan, I gave it to Joe(Sunbow, not DiC).

I like MASK's theme song the best.

I also like the first season Transformers' theme song too. GoBots, G.I. Joe and Wheeled Warriors were also pretty good.

They need to put all of these and many others on CD, I remember singing these more then most music from the 80s. Even more telling I remember most of these better then most 80s music (even many 90s bands when I was a teen).

On facebook a few months back I got a basically lead a youtube linking fest amongst family and friends for an evening with these (and non toy related ones).

The other difficulty is focusing on the theme not the show, as most of the shows don't hold up that well but some more then others.

Having most of my life been more of a metal and hard rock listener, with a focus on guitar and heavy drums means I lean a bit more towards Transformers and Thundercats. At this moment not sure which to pick.

I'm shocked at this M.A.S.K. love. I didn't even remember that song until I tried to watch a few episodes of it on Youtube. Let's just say the way some MYP fans feel about Filmation, double it and you have what I feel about M.A.S.K.

The Legend of Prince Valiant is the all time best intro imo.
    Song: Where the Truth Lies
    Artist: The Exchange
A whisper in my ear, a voice so strong and clear.
Upon this beach I see a million grains of sand.
    I believe we are destined.
Bound to survive against all odds.
Out where the truth lies, I will follow.
    Out beyond this barren surround.
    I cry without a sound.
Out where the truth lies, I will follow my eyes into the sun.

The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers is 2nd best that I can think of right now.
But, it's not in the list either! Must have been the Psychocrystals
The Opening and closing themes are totally rocking awesome! XD
and wow no Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors either?

How about Dungeons & Dragons? Bucky O' Hare? Ducktales? Visionaries? Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin? The Raccoons? Gummi Bears? Nils Holgersson? Nathalie (kati katri katoli)? Pole Position? Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers? David the Gnome? Ring Raiders? StarCom? Spiral Zone?...
All the other of the greatest theme songs are missing in this list
    I'm sure I still missed a lot!

There are sooo many awesome theme songs from the 80's and early '90's. It's really sad the theme songs for most cartoons from nowadays is

Go check these good old theme songs out if you don't know them, you're missing out!!!

I did say "1980's Toy Related". Of the ones you listed, they either didn't come out in the 80's(Prince Valiant, Bucky O'Hare), aren't related to a toy(Chip & Dale, David The Gnome), I've never heard of them(Nils Holgersson, Nathalie), or I didn't watch them(Jayce And The Wheeled Warriors, Spiral Zone). I did give you the option of "Other" if you don't want to pick any of those I listed.

    I chose the option "Other"
I just had to include some shows and went a bit overboard when the nostalgia kicked in
The '80's and early '90's are the golden age of cartoons and toylines!
Most series had toys in one form or another, if it wasn't an action figure line, it was a pvc figure or a happy meal figure. Some of the toys are pretty obscure and foreign releases etc. There where even pvc figures of the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon series characters which never saw a release in the US to my knowledge. Only the RPG figures of LJN had a toyline in the US.

I love the MASK theme, it's very catchy but the one I'm always humming in the shower is Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars.

Mutants and Aliens and Toads beware
If you're looking for adventure then this is it
With Jenny, Deadeye, Blinky and Willie Dewitt
    BUCKY! Captain Bucky O'Hare

Technically the only toys this series received were from Mego in the early 80's but this show had a pretty hip opening theme song

There are some good choices up there. However, when I read the title of the thread this one popped in my head.

I do agree that Gummi Bears had a catchy theme. I really used to love that show.

I was going to keep this poll strictly to theme songs from cartoons based on 1980's boys' action figures. Since it was an MOTU spinoff, I included POP. That led me to include Jem which led to a few other girls lines. Before I knew it, I had included plush lines like Pound Puppies & The Get Along Gang. I almost wish the number of poll options limit was as small as it used to be. I kinda get carried away now that I'm able to include so many different choices.

'Inhumanoids' is also missing from this list. And, c'mon, D'Compose is one of the creepiest, yet coolest monsters ever created! I've wanted to get one off eBay (I got Tendril) but haven't been able to yet.

I chose MOTU, but I found a very cool instrumental Thundercats theme that is pretty cool.

I distinctly remember and can recite the lyrics to a few of those on the list. In the end, SIlverhawks won out, I think it was the synthesizer in it that tilted the scale.

I always thought of them like eggs. The shell of an egg is round while the turtles were only round on one side. It was like an egg shell cut in half.
