I'm glad they got old-skool talent Rudy Obrero for the maps. No offense to Emiliano but Rudy's work is fantastic.

I didn't mean any offence to Rudy Obrero. The maps he did are fantastic, it's just that Emiliano is also an extremely gifted artist and I would wajor that he's the best artist that's the most knowledgeable on PoP and MOTU.

So, I mean he wouldn't just draw in Crystal Falls, but give Mattel a ring and ask about it and they would go "Oh, thank God you noticed we missed putting 1 of the 2 PoP playsets on the map, which happens to be a main character's home. We would have looked like FOOLS!"

Ironically, Crystal Falls is Mermista's home and they have her on the map (the size of Beast Island, no less) swimming. I find that very weird.

wooow it is so incredibly superior to the original 2pack art, both arts can not be compared or actually we can compare these 2 arts , I already found 102 differences

I'd expect to see someone do a carded custom of this two pack with your art, Emiliano. Yeah this is leaps and bounds ahead of the coloring book art we got for these two packs. Still wish I could hunt these down at my local TRU.

WOW. It's like ice cream covered in awesome sauce.

Looking at the package art that they are using, Mer-Man's sword doesn't line up correctly. The Bade and the hilt are completely off. Very disappointing.

Unfortunately, it's very ulikely.
It's fun, but I rarely have time and I got a tons of other things to work on.
When I have free time, I like to work on MOTU products ideas and designs Mattel will never see

As ever - Emiliano, brilliant work, easily more dynamic and graceful than the work exhibited on the back card. However, maybe Mattel briefed to have the cardback art we were given to have a kind of one-sheet comic-book feel, which it pastiches very well.
