Which Is Your Favorite Toy Company Over All?
![]()
I guess I like 'em both equally. =)
My favorite Hasbro lines are Transformers, G.I. Joe, Star Wars, and the Battlestar Galactica Titaniums (I've got multiples of every ship, and about 30 Mark II Vipers).
Favorite Mattel lines include MotU, the various DC figures (particularly Batman: TAS and related lines), M.U.S.C.L.E. and Marvel Secret Wars from back in the 80s, and I've bought a handful of Hot Wheels during my life.
Hasbro charges less for their stuff, packs in a good number of accessories as opposed to Mattel's "1 or 2 and you will like it" cheapness, and doesn't make you jump through hoops to buy half their stuff.
On the other hand, Mattel is willing to make female characters whereas Hasbro is almost afraid to now citing some of the most nonsense reasons coupled with statistic forcing to make their point.
Mattel - they do stupid things fAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrr less than Hasbro.
Brings doom to MOTUC with cel accuracy.
Kenner will always be my favorite toy company, but as a kid, Mattel was a close second(MOTU, Secret Wars, Hot Wheels). These days, I pretty much only buy toys by Mattel so it has got to be them.
Mattel takes top spot with me, doing the best DC Universe line ever, along with Masters line.
Mattel is my current favorite due to their collector MOTUC line and overall figure mechanics.
My previous favorite/runner-up is Character Options, 'cause I'm a Who fan and they make the Doctor Who line.
Ask not for whom MOTUC is made, it's made for thee.
If you have to disclaimer your like, then you don't really like it.
Hasbro. Star Wars, Transformers, G.I. Joe, and MOTU are the main toylines I've been interested in the most over the years and 3 of the 4 are Hasbro.
For me these days it's Mattel only because of MotUC. But back in the day, it would have been between Kenner and Hasbro easily.
Hasbro all the way. Star Wars, Transformers, G.I. Joe and Marvel are all their properties and my main collecting properties.

The company that created MOTU gets my vote.
Mattel for me.

Kenner – Most number of toy lines I collect from the 80’s and 90’s
Hasbro – Has my top 3 favorite lines (Transformers: Star Wars, and GI*JOE)
Mattel – I would say I like Master of the Universe and DCUC in spite of Mattel not because of.

I miss Kenner...
It's a tough call between Mattel and Hasbro. Mattel has WWE, MOTUC and DCUC. The sculpts are amazing, but the price and being able to find them at retail is too much for DCUC.
Hasbro I only collect Marvel Universe (and any other Marvel tie in they have) and on occassion Star Wars. The price is great but it's being able to find them thats annoying...

Mattel screws up again with Battle Armor Faker. Grief...even Hasbro, Jazwares and Bandai were on point this morning, but Mattel's boat is missed?

I voted Matel because MOTU are my all time favorite action figures, but to me the best toy company ever is without a doubt LEGO, and nothing comes close to it.

They both produce sub-standard products at what in my opinion are ridiculous prices. Even though I really like MOTUC they just can't stand up to the quality of figures from NECA, Square, or even McFarlane. For the $20 you pay ($30 with shipping) they really should be in the same ballpark as far as sculpt, paint apps, and quality control. Hasbro's offerings are even worse and more toyish.
I think I've just been spoiled by the more collector oriented companies though. The problem with them (the smaller collector companies) is that they can't keep a product line running long enough to build any semblence of a complete collection.

Mattel destroys Hasbro.
Today (7/22/11) proves it.

BLÅÇK FLØWËRŠ!!!!
I'm not too happy about the Shadow Weaver being a sub exclusive thing. Mattel drops a few more notches for me.
Other.
I do not have favorite toy companies... I have favorite toy PROPERTIES. I'm a big fan of DC and Marvel SUperheroes... MOTU... and Thundercats.
Whichever company gets the properites, gets the money![]()
Mattel wins my support for He-Man. Hasbro almost with Transformers but He-Man is just better. I can't believe they can't get more out of He-Man then Hasbro has got out of Transformers.
