Mattel Saying Goodbye To Bubble Mailers

    Saw this on Twitter.

We heard you on the bubble mailers. Starting today, were going back to the box mailers so you get your toys in the best condition possible!

Collectors, weve been listening to your feedback on the bubble mailers. Youll be glad to know that starting with shipments from todays sale, were going back to the box mailers. As collectors ourselves, we totally get that you want your toys in pristine condition and we want to do everything we can to ensure they arrive that way!

(I look at their Facebook page on sale days for funny posts )

Great news, although for me, it's been a while since I ordered a single figure. I've consolidated my orders with a fellow MOTUC collecter and lately a big Green Lantern fan. Nice when we can all save a bit on shipping!

Great news! I think I heard somewhere that it was also more expensive to send the bubbles out.

I'm glad that I was able to be a part of making this happen too. I voiced my opinion to Mattel, and they fixed it by shipping me a new Catra free of charge. I guess there were many more like me calling Matty. The good thing is that Mattel isn't going to let this problem drag on for 6 months or so before making the switch back to boxed shipments. I'm very relieved to hear this news.

Shouldn't this have been common sense? I forgot whom we are dealing with.

I agree. Bubble mailers = more broken figures/bent cards = more replacements being sent out = higher overhead for Mattel than shipping cardboard boxes.

They probably looked at the finances and saw they were hemorrhaging money in replacements/returns

    Thank Goddess.

The good news just keeps on coming! First I got to order the figure I wanted and now this! Really happy about this since my mailboy (I don't call him a man since he is younger than me and thinks a wife-beater uniform and being hours late is acceptable) seems to think since it is an "envelope" it can be crammed in my mailbox. Love that they are going back to the boxes.

That's a shame for me as the bubble mailer got here alot quicker and I don't need an extra box protecting my figures as they already have two layers of packaging.

Probably shouldn't have said hello to them in the first place.
    Nonetheless, this is great news.

Here's hoping Hasbro decides to follow suit.

    Good choice, Mattel.

That's great news! Now, if they would just dump that slow shipping service as well, we'd be in business as far as shipping/packaging goes.

This is great. By the time my figure went to New Zealand then over to Australia it was a little banged up! I love that they are listening to us. Now if they can sort out Filmation rights I will love them for ever!!!
