If you have Classics Cliffjumper you could always slap the WFC Cliffjumper head on him. I didn't even realize it was compatible until a friend of mine pointed it out to me.

    Well, let's see...

Uhhh... I got the new GB Winston figure that came with my combined MOTU/GB subscription from Matty Collector... does that count?

Probably my biggest 'score' (which really isn't much) in terms of finding items inside of an actual, physical store has been me gradually getting a ton of the Hot Wheels BTTF Delorian Time Machines:

I have somewhere between 15 and 20 of them now. I'm not buying them to resell them or anything. It's just that I'm a big BTTF fan, each one only costs about $1 or so (actually it seems that the average price of Hot Wheels just recently went up by about 10 cents, so now it's more like $1.10, but still not bad), and for some reason I just like collecting a ton of them. Most are still MOC. I have a couple that I've opened, and eventually plan to open more.

I do most of my grocery shopping at stores like Meijer, Wal-Mart Super Center, and Super Target, so whenever I go to those stores, I check out the toy section and if they have any of these, I've been grabbing them. Typically I find anywhere from 1 to 4 at a time... though there was one score where I found 7 of them! I also was at Toys R Us the other day looking for the new Real Ghostbusters Minimates 2-packs (which I have yet to actually find) and found a few of these Delorians.

While I don't have as many of them as the BTTF version, I do also have several of the previous regular Delorian cars that Hot Wheel put out over the last year or so.

As far as anything else goes, I've gotten a couple of Minimates 4-packs (mostly BTTF and GB related) from Entertainment Earth recently, with another that is still preordered in the same order that I have yet to get.

Big Bad Toy Store has some of the new Thundercats items up for preorder, and I placed one for 2 of the classic style 8" Lion-Os and 1 Tygra. I haven't fully decided if I'm going to collect the new toys based on the new show (part of me wants to, but my wallet says no! )

i got a few toys in the mail from onell design over the weekend. the white buildman gendrome, standard pheyden, and crayboth pack 4. i knew these things would be small, as it lists the size for most of the toys, but i was still surprised at how tiny they really are, especially the crayboth. they are really cool and super detailed for their size.

i was a little disappointed that the gendrome and pheyden have different proportions, it made combining parts from both toys into a centaur a little awkward. the paint on the pheyden rubbed onto the gendrome parts when i started mixing and matching too. not a huge problem as long as the pieces have something plugged into them, and it may even wash off, but it's still worth noting.

i also picked up a few lego sets in the past few weeks. i'm getting lego crazy. i got the UFO abduction, camper, and lighthouse island.

i knew i would have to buy the UFO abduction set when i saw it. i've always been a fan of UFOs and i laugh everytime i see it grabbing the farmer minifig. it has a piece that shines a red beam from the bottom of the craft, which really adds character to the spaceship. the soldier, alien, and farmer minifigures are all great. the soldier's helmet is a lot more detailed than i would have expected. the helmet design does not allow the visor to move up and down like the old space and motorcycle helmets i remember as a kid, but it's a neat one nonetheless. i would have loved a more traditional "grey" alien, but the ones in all the alien conquest themed sets have a cool design. the biggest con i have is that there are several specialized and flat pieces in the set. if i had a lot skill coming up with new objects it could be great, but i'm at a point where i'd prefer more standard bricks.

the camper set is nice. this isn't one that gets my attention with how cool the set looks, not that it isn't cool, but rather it stands out as something with a lot of potential in making other things. it's mostly white bricks, which means i can build things with it that aren't multi-colored monstrosities. the camper spreads open in the back, which is always a nice feature for enclosed areas. it does make use of some stickers, but doesn't really need them to look like a camper. it has two standard minifigures that could fit in with just about anything. and it has a bicycle! not quite as good as the old lego motorcycle i had, but it has a lot of character.

lighthouse island fits in perfectly with the city sets, but is grouped with the "creator" line. but that just means it's a versatile set. they include instructions for three different models. the aforementioned lighthouse, a boathouse, and a seafood restaurant. i was torn between the three, but ended up building the boathouse. there's not a whole lot to say about the boathouse that isn't self-explanatory. like the UFO abduction set, this one includes a light-up brick. this one lights up yellow and for the boathouse it is used to power an outdoor light above a doorway. each build in the set allows for not only a building, but also a small boat. the boathouse version of the boat is a little more detailed than the other two. the set includes a sailor minifigure that has a rockin' beard. i will use its head to make a minifigure that looks like me.

i have the WFC bumblebee. i think it's a cool toy, but it sure is a pain getting all the panels to fit together when he's a car. i also think he would look much better as a bright neon yellow.

EDIT: dynamo's post reminded me that i got a marty mcfly w/delorean minimate at toys r us. for some reason it's labeled as a BTTF2 toy, but the delorean doesn't have any of the modifications from that movie. this is the only minimate i have with the exception of a blank one i got on free comic book day several years ago. the marty figure is nicely detailed and unmistakably marty mcfly. he's wearing his trademark blue jeans, red t-shirt, patterned button down shirt, denim jacket, and "life preserver" vest. the vest is removable, but he looks weird without it. the delorean has doors that lift open and a few stickers that further detail a nicely sculpted vehicle. the stickers can be difficult to apply throughout the interior. there is one that goes onto the dashboard behind the steering wheel that i had to carefully cut in half before applying. a sticker detailing the overhead switches won't apply properly because of a plastic piece that juts out. despite some issues with the stickers, it's still a great toy. finally having some BTTF figures to go with a delorean is a godsend.

    What did you buy today?

There is a thread just like this over at the Cybertron Archives so I thought I would start one here.

It is simply a place to announce your latest scores / buys that are not dvds / blu-rays (as we have a thread for that) and is not related to MOTUC (or any other MOTU lines)

so to start off a couple of toys I got yesterday

Transformers (Hunt for the Decepticons) Battle Blade Bumblebee

Transformers (Hunt for the Decepticons) Sea Attack Ravage

these are also the first TF toys I have bought in approx 20 years

Another Transformers shipment arrived, this one all the way from Japan.

Since I took this pic I did the "quick and easy" modification to make Megatron's "wings" removable. In the process I cut my hand open, clumsy as I am. From this we learn that Sandman should not be given xacto knives.

Exacto cuts heal very quickly. They are usually very clean. I remember one time I was working on something and cut myself (twice, actually). Didn't really hurt and healed very fast.

You dang Swedes and your mutie healing powers!

Anyways, I got the '85 Squadron Supreme 12 issue mini-series yesterday. It's basically Marvel's parody of DC's Justice League. I really liked it as it deals with superheroes attempting to create a Utopian society by seizing power from citizens/government and dealing with the moral issues involved in such an undertaking. The superheroes use behavior modification programs on criminals, enemies, and each other to ensure their goals as well as disarming the populace and the military. And the unethical methods employed by the heroes causes dissension among their ranks as some members leave in protest which culminates in a battle royale at the end where many characters die.

Someone bought me an Empire Strikes Back Tauntaun. It says Target exclusive on the box.

I don't actually collect Star Wars (other the old ceramic character mugs from Sigma), so I might put this up for trade.

I did not even know that there was a Kamakura figure, otherwise I may have looked for it.

Kenner/Hasbro did the Batman Animated figures till 2000. Mattel took DC & Batman on 2001 with JL & Batman Animated Classics; the figure from the pic on the peg seems to belong to a series launched in 2005. Still, I thought that is pretty odd to find a 7 year old figure on a rack.

Oh, ok. Those must be the ones I always see at Big Lots. Yeah, they never move. I've been seeing those for many years now.

Damn, man I used to have ROM back in the day. Breaks my heart to think about all the great toys I had when I was a kid.
