Corey, I haven't seen the film, but I'm really interested in watching it! I do have a question though, based on the info people who have seen it have talked about. It's said that the film doesn't have She-Ra in it at all...not even a mention. Why is that? I "liked" your Facebook page during the long process of interviewing, filming, etc. and I know you interviewed Jack and Leslie Wadsworth who played He-Man and She-Ra in the Power Tour. I was most interested in their interview as we really haven't heard from them before. Will they be in the final cut of the movie, or the long "fan cut" or whatever you want to call it? Please say yes.

Another question: will this be available on Blu-Ray and DVD or just DVD? Thanks for all your hard work on the film. Even if it's not everyone's cup of tea, I think everyone can appreciate the time and hard work that went into getting all the interviews and editing the film.

She-Ra was dropped because it didn't further any story line. She was one of the last things to get cut. We may find a way to mention her. But her chunk didn't provide anything but a tick on a timeline and didn't add to anything anyone was tracking.

Jack and Leslie are great folks but they got the axe as well for the above reason, as well. We are planning on including the She-Ra, extended '87 motion picture, Power Tour and more on the home video release, which we HOPE will be on Blu-Ray as well as DVD.

90 minutes isn't a long time to include a lot of information. So stuff gets cut in favor of streamlining the the story. Because it's palpable when there is a hiccup in the threads the audience tracks. We have a couple different threads going in this movie, and, ultimately, if a segment didn't add to one of these threads, they had to go. Otherwise we have a 4 hour mess that's just a bunch of information.

Thanks for following us on FB and keeping track of our progress. We hope you like the movie!

Thanks for the reply, Corey. I understand what you're saying. As long as all that stuff is on the DVD and Blu-Ray (I REALLY would love a Blu-Ray copy), I will be a very happy camper. Best of luck and I can't wait to own a copy!

    Hello Corey

Will the film also be available on sale as a digital download with all the possible extras? I like how documentary movie Stripped (documentary about comic book strips) did it for instance, where they offer complete interviews as bonus purchase option (separate videos). Getting physical copy to Europe is usually unnecessarily expensive (and slow!) and even then there can be issues like region coding. With digital downloads there is no need to print discs, and frankly I prefer it, no more swapping discs or problem with storage.

That's a valid issue, and we'll keep it in mind. Unfortunately, the way these deals work, I don't think we'll have much of a choice as far as customizing the forms/versions that will be available and where. But if we can do it, I'd love to.

What Stripped did (I presume you are familiar with document. Googling "Stripped comic documentary" will lead you to right path), came after release so that really gave them time to do it right. Plus is its mostly just whole interviews, so editing is minimal in extras.

However, besides extra content, do you plan to do the just regular release as digital? I think just focusing on blu-ray and dvd will limit your audience quite a bit, especially if they come with region locks and that nonsense. Personally I would be really happy with just the movie in digital format, disc would probably cost me twice the price of the movie with shipping and possible customs and such.

I can see where, due to costs, a home video release could take awhile to get started. But I'm a bit disappointed that this documentary hasn't made it's way to the On Demand offerings, Netflix, Amazon Video, etc. yet. Surely those venues would only add to whatever income the documentary may be making via more limited audiences at cons and other special showings.

I gueas they've been wanting to release this with the Sony movie that isn't materialising (yet). That would be the best way to capitalize this documentary.

They then enter Tron-style to a cyber world called Eternia, where they control muscle-bound avatars to battle (called He-Man and Skeletor). And these same avatars come to life and continue to battle in present-day Earth." - VZX

It's actually a lot easier to do home video--it's possible that that will be the first format. We can do that ourselves easily. Digital distro is more complicated and filled with legal ramifications...and we have quite a bit of clearances to take care of (which we are working on now). It's a complicated process that involves lawyers evaluating the film, buying insurance, and paying tens of thousands of dollars to clear clips/songs, etc. Home video, we can get away with a little more if we do it ourselves. But, anyway...stay tuned. We are working on it!

    - - - Updated - - -

As for waiting on the Sony movie...we are not waiting on that in any way. We are eager to get the movie out ASAP and have no strategy to piggyback on a movie that may not even happen.

That won't be happening, unless something unexpected happens. We have to concentrate on getting it out. Nothing to be gained from a screening at this point. Sorry about that.
