"Matty" is freaking because he doesn't want to pay to fix the re-used King Hiss reversed shoulders.

I would pay more to keep Draego the way he is as well, but if that is not possible, sacrafice a weapon and put it in a future weapons pack.

It is basically due to the huge amount of surface area he has with the wings/tail which results in more paint deco needed compared to the average fig. Nothing is changing YET. Terry and the Horsemen are still reviewing and it also doesn't rule out that if we have to cut one or two accessories we can always look at finding ways to release them with someone else down the road. We're not looking at a huge change, it just may be lossing an accessory or two. No one is cutting the tail or the armor or anything. Minor minor changes if at all.

We certainly won't be offering multiple versions or changing the price. It just logistically won't work that way. Not to fear, this won't be a huge change guys! Hang in their while we review all possible options. We won't move on anything without the Horsemen's approval.
    Thank you.
Please don't upper the price in monthly figures except SDCC items.
Hope that Geoff Johns designed figure can be shown at PowerCon.

Here is my problem with this update: They never say definitively that the add-on sub is happening yet. In fact, they go out of their way in the update to stress that they are still working on it and that the still have to "get their ducks in a row"... with all the details and final arrangements being revealed at Power-Con. Which is in late September. The regular sub sales end in less than a week.

So if this was a move to get folks to purchase the sub who are currently not doing so due to the 30th anniversary figures shipping separately, then they need to give a 100% definitive answer on if everything can be combined or not. Don't give us "in a perfect world" or "if it all works out!". Give us a clear yes or no as to if they can be added or not, and then maybe that will get more people to jump on the current sub before the sale ends on the 22nd.

Just this morning, my wife and I discussed starting an allowance for my oldest son (who LOVES MOTUC). $10 a week if he does all his chores and brings home good grades. When I told him that, he said "hey... I could get a sub now!". I would totally add another for him right now if I knew he wouldn't be stuck with separate shipping charges.... but this note doesn't give a guarantee of that. Right now, it just reads like wishful thinking on Matty's part.

Oh my, good news AND bad news!

    - 30th Anniversary sub = HUGE relief. I've been freaking out about this! Since Mattel isn't doing re-issues and said we would never see these figures again...I would be crushed if I missed out on one! BIG thank you to Mattel for working on the add-on sub.

    - Photog possibly not in the sub = broken heart. Could you move him to February so he could be shipped with the rest? I mean, the MOTUC product (not including re-issues) reaches $100 in January...right after Christmas. February might be better and allow him to be in the sub!

    - Draego-Man: oh no, I think I mentally cursed him! When we saw pics of him at SDCC I went "Holy cow, he looks awesome!" and then when I saw all his flame accessories can be removed from his weapons I went "Wow! He sure comes with a lot of new pieces, how can they afford all that?" I hope he can stay the same way as he is. I mean...Battlegroun Evil-Lyn is basically a repaint...and she was budgeted to NOT be a repaint...so...I'm sure Draego-Man can take her unused budget?

I am not naive when it comes to profits and business ect, but personally I think Matty at this point should leave Draego-Man alone. He is not going to send Mattel into the poor house. A little good can go a long way especially to loyal fans who have suffered from poor customer service and at times spotty quality control. Just my two cents.

I consider it square, for including so little with Faker, Zodac, and Stratos in the first year.

I think a little slack is called for. Prototypes are shown ALL the time for lines and then small changes often have to be made by final product. (any DC fans remember Batman Beyond's Wings or Wonder Woman's lance?). I love the Horsemen but they do sometimes sculpt more then we can afford (the JLU City of Kandor was originally sculpted as a 6" Superman accessory, so we do try to find homes for things).

We do all we can to only show final product, but sometimes with the rising cost of production we have to make adjustments.

Again, if (and I still say IF) changes are needed to Draego, they will be minor. We're not looking to do a huge overhaul.

Yay for the 30th Anniversary Sub! I REALLY hope it happens. I'm one of those who'd wait a little for Photog if it meant he could be included, but I don't actually mind battling the WSOD to get him if it means I won't have to for the others.

But I also hope they don't change a thing about Draego Man! He's perfect as-is! He's mostly re-use, and the wings can be reused for Dactys. I think they should just absorb the little bit extra and give fans the character they're excited about.

But, I understand the economic realities of it too. Nice to hear they're trying everything they can to make it work. Now, if it came down to it and it was about losing an accessory versus loosing the flames, I'd rather lose the flames. But I hope that's not the choice.

Can't we just tell you it's too late to make changes?

C'mon guys, as long as the accessories show up somewhere (soon) and the figure itself stays as is, we should all be happy. Again, most toy companies would just make the changes and put out the figure. I'm up for being critical as much as anyone, but I appreciate the heads up and have faith we'll get all the pieces somewhere.

Well I'm sorry that Photog would still be day-of, but honestly for me it is much more important that I get Draego-Man! So....crap, talk of any changes is kind of heartbreaking, even if they're minor.

Ah, that will be good. Might I suggest packing the shield or the sword with Granamyr? I'd rather keep the Balrog-like flaming whip-thing though as well as the flames on the shield.

Basically, this is a nice way to try to reassure us and to try to justify a change in what was first shown. OR a polite way to tell us "we don't care"...

Unfortunately, I'm not reassured, and I just can't swallow that justification...

I guess on a more positive note it seems a lot of people are adamant about wanting this figure so that bodes well for the 30th line

I think TG's message is fair. And totally true. Stuff changes all the time between proto and final. It's amazing this hasn't happened more often in the line, honestly.

But I'll reiterate. PLEASE DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING!

Cut back to a non interchangeable sword and a shield and get rid of that hideous loin cloth(just use Hssssssssssssssssssss'ssssssssssssssssss crotch. might as well sinc you're using the arms and legs) and I'll be (and the figure) will be just fine.

Put the other stuff (flame sword & shield) in the next weapons pack.

    Thanks, ToyGuru.

I think you've done a great job of addressing the Draego Man issue in an upfront and honest manor. Working on the sub expansion is a huge win in my eyes...but would you please consider holding Photog back a couple of months? I've waited on that figure for, what, 14 years? ...I can wait a couple more months to make sure I can actually nab one. :-)

I agree with the consensus to HOLD PHOTOG BACK a few months so he can be in the 30th sub. January is heavy enough right after the holidays anyway.

I have to agree here. I think that he really stands out the way he was shown at SDCC. If he is cut back in accessories or deco, it will seriously diminish the enthusiasm for most people wanting to buy him and the 30th Anniversary sub.

Charge a couple of bucks more for him as a deluxe figure or something, but don't detract anything. That would be a huge mistake.

I know, i'm only one of the few international fans.

But i'm shocked about the news that all the subs will ship together!

I was aware of buying two subscriptions seperate from each other! Because small packages (62$) go trough the Border without taxes. But now i have to pay taxes between 260-320$ (depending on dollar-rate) for my 2012 Subscription. It's horrible news for me!

    And it's no jocke!

I know, i'm the minority! But Mattel needs to know, that not every Costumer is pleased about this news.

agreed. Let's not overstack a month.

If that happens then we'll get several different threads relating to it. And some of us don't want that mass hysteria.
