These look like some amazing figures. I went ahead and bit the bullet and bought a set of Turtles...

Not too bad, I ended up paying a buck fifty with free shipping. It was a best-offer deal, and the seller responded right away.
    Wow!!!that is really cool!!!

So.... I bit another bullet... and ordered Leonardo and Donatello! (Mikey and Raph won't show up until late 2016 )

I'll post some thoughts on these two once I get them in hand!

Here are two more shorts from SDCC. They are freaking amazing!

    Chek 'em out!

I love this idea of different creators making animated shorts starring the TMNT. I hope Nick continues to release these!

Nope. Supposedly a human Karai is going to ship in the very near future or is shipping now (!?), and an Armaggon and Muckman are in the future, possibly Spring of next year, IIRC. And "lots of new versions of turtles" or something like that. We'll see if any of this materializes?

I saw that interview that PixelDan did with them, they didn't show a single figure, I wonder if they just didn't have any new ones to show.

Awesome! I'll have to order those late next week after my credit card flips to the next cycle (I've got a lot on there right now thanks to buying the TMNT arcade figures on ebay). I'm actually glad that only two of these are out now. It's more manageable that way.
Plus I'm probably also going to order that big NECA Donatello figure based on the 1990 movie.

No... which is kind of weird because Nickelodeon has already announced season 5 of TMNT, in addition to the last half of season 4 airing this Fall.

Playmates might be waiting until October to show their new figures in N.Y., to coincide with the second half of season 4 of the Nick show.

Also, I think it's kind of funny that TMNT, as a brand, had one of their strongest SDCC showings this year, and their main license holder was all but absent! NECA and Bandai have released some of the BEST Turtle merchandise to come out in YEARS! (I'm sorry, but those MONDO Turtles are TERRIBLE.... and WAY over-priced.)

OMG! I just got the S.H. Figuarts Turtles delivered today!!!!! All I can say is, COWABUNGA!!!!! These are quite possibly the greatest Turtle action figures ever made - in terms of sculpt and poseability! Just holding them in your hands tells you that these are some high-quality figures... I am a huge fan of the Figuarts line, always have been, but these figures are a step above anything else Tamashii has made thus far. Color me impressed!

I'll post some pics when I get a chance! I still have a lot of playing around to do with these guys! Ahhhhhh, the poses!

And now I'm just waiting for my NECA TMNT box sets to arrive! I am loving all of this nostalgic Turtle action! And I agree with you Dynamo, those movie-based quarter scale figures are going to ROCK!!! They have the sculpt down pat! I just hope the QC issues don't plague these guys like Neca's other 1/4 scale figures...

Even though these things look great in reviews, it's hard to get a full since of just how much fun they are to look at and pose around yourself. I am really eager to get the rest of what's coming up.

On a nitpicky note: I was watching a review, just in hopes to see some good posing and photos of these guys (even though I already own them), and the logo jumped out at me. Since these are based on the 80's toon, why on earth do they have the nicktoon logo? I don't hate that logo or anything, but it certainly lacks the fun factor that the original cartoon had. And since these are based on that 80's toon, it seems like a waste to have this less appropriate, rather lifeless Turtles logo on the packaging. Even though it's just some words on a box, and since I have opened mine and stored the boxes, I still think it would have gone a VERY long way toward making these feel more special, if they had included the original logo. Anybody else feel the same way?

I agree on preferring the original logo. Unfortunately Nickelodeon, as the licensor, wants the newer logo used on products based on the original cartoon, comics, etc. The only thing that tends to vary is how it is colored.

For example, the Mega Bloks lines:

The sets based on the current cartoon series has the "TMN" part in white, with the "Turtles" in green:

The sets based on the 80s cartoon have the logo colored the same way as these Figuarts figures (the "TMN" in red, the "Turtles" portion in green).

And the sets based on the original comics have the same logo in black and white.

The only sets that have a completely different logo are the ones based on the recent movie.

Even the recent NECA arcade game figures were forced to use the new logo:

The only exception allowed on those arcade sets was on the inside of the front panel that opens. It is intended to look like the controls from the actual arcade, and has the original logo like on the original arcade cabinet. But on the actual outside of the packaging, on all sides, is the new logo.

Looking pretty good! He's up for preorder at BBTS right now.

DreamEX has revealed the first two Turtles in their 1:6 lineup:

Basically these are 1/6 scale versions of the 2K3 TMNT... and they are looking pretty sweet!

But I think it may not be necessary to even do that. Scalpers gravitate to what's at least somewhat popular and scarce enough where they can tip the balance of the supply/demand scale (if need be). So maybe they didn't need to make additional stormtroopers to account for quick flipping, but just needed to get more of them out in a hurry.

I really hope to get those movie figures one day. I couldn't even begin to afford them while trying to keep up with MOTUC though. I'm still very thankful to be able to afford the toon turtles from S.H. Figuarts though (so far anyway).

    Ah, got it...

They haven't sold out, yet. As far as I know, Donatello hasn't started shipping from most retailers, and Raphael is scheduled for 1st quarter 2017.

Heads up! New pics of the TMNT Movie Donatello and Raph!

    From Neca:
The photos we’ve been sharing on Twitter and Facebook have been so popular, we decided to dedicate a whole gallery to Donatello! (Well, ALMOST entirely – there’s ONE cameo by a certain fellow Turtle…) Check out our first 1/4 scale figure from the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie in action, plus packaging shots, and get ready for him to start shipping sometime next week!

WOOT! Don is shipping next week!! God, I hope these don't have the QC issues that other Neca 1:4 scale figures have had...

that's because, supposedly, season 5 will be the last season of this show.

I know i'm in the minority, but i just can't see how so many people can call t his the best iteration of tmnt ever to air. for me, it's far goofier than the OT. and the best iterations for me is the largely forgotten 4 kids series AND IDW.

My S.H. Figuarts Raph arrived today. He's pretty awesome, but getting these at such a slow rate kind of diminishes the wow factor. I was really hoping that Mickey would ship with him. I'm extremely happy to have him, don't get me wrong, but that over-the-moon feeling wasn't present the way it was when the first two arrived.

I'm also kind of worried that Shredder still isn't up for pre-order.

PS I don't have my camera at the moment, so I can't take any pics.

    -----EDIT 12/1/16-----

Holy crap! I happened to notice that Raph's shell moves around a bit while trying to pose him, so I went to slide it down, to allow him to look up a bit higher, and the shell came off! It is actually attached via a double ended ball joint! If you go to check this out, be gentle, because the rubbery belt may be delicate. I recommend placing your thumb on his crotch, and then apply gently increasing pressure with your fingers on the shell, pulling downward.

This just makes me love these figures even more. So much thought and love went into engineering these, it's astonishing. I'm not 100% sure that Leo and Don have this feature, but I'm going to check now.

    -----EDIT12/2/16-----

Leo and Don also have this articulation point. Basically what this means is that when posing the head arms or legs, if the shell gets in the way, you can shift it out of the way; it moves in all directions, not just up and down.

A friend of mine called yesterday and asked if it was OK to drop something off for my son at 6:30 this morning. Normally I am not up, but I was intrigued. This is what he brought over.
