I never considered they would make him out of foam either.

I can most asuredly confirm that not every one will buy him if he is made of foam. The very nature of foam itself should be a no brainer, and yet, we have products made to rot from the day we buy them. Classy as usual Mottel. If you can't make a figure cheap enough for your taste, and with parts that last, then don't make them. Period. It's not rocket science. If you know the parts will rot (and let's be honest for once, with full dislcosure () you knew that foam was a bad choice), then why sell them to an already frustrated fan base? You know that it's going to come back to haunt you. To be perfectly honest, this is the one thing that seems the most like evidence that Mottel is trying to sabotage their own line. I have no idea why they would want to do that, but THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!!! Foam is crap.

I don't think Mattel has any intentions of making Granamyr using foam, but I'll join the cause just incase.

I'm in. I'm against all use of bendums and rubbery plastic on these toys.

I never thought they'd make him out of foam, but I'll add my voice to those that don't want foam.

Of course now that we've expressed our desire for NO FOAM, that's probably what Mattel and the 4H will do now, given their track record.

And let's not forget no foam for Spikor's spikes either.

I'm not so much worried for foam as I am it being one giant, hollow, roto-cast piece of plastic. Anyone who ever had NECA's Balrog knows what I'm talking about.

Stay Puft has 5 points of articulation - neck, shoulders, and hips.

While I am happy with Stay Puft, as I feel the way Mattel made him worked for the character, I don't want to see them doing Granamyr that way. I expect a high quality rotocast with good articulation. Something like NECA's Balrog would be excellent.

Yes, the idea with Stay Puft was nice. But logistically it was bad! Many, like with Snout Spout's trunk is cracking and discoloring. Which is why peoples do not want to see Granamyr done in a similar fashion, be it some kind of foam or rubber skin. The elements are not kind to them!

No foam and no bendy parts for Granamyr ! For a $80.00 figure, I think we must get something better. If Granamyr is made the cheap way, or if there's the slightest doubt that he'll have QC issues, I won't buy him.

I hope he's made properly with great materials, so I'll be able to get him.

Fortunately, with Granamyr not a part of the subs, his quality is really important. If Mattel saw dissapointing sales of the WaveRaider, which seems to be very highly praised and of a very high quality, then I'm not sure what exactly what kind of sales they would see with a more expensive piece made of cheap materials.

Granamyr will be made out of bannan peels and old cardboard.

Relax all. He will be a plastic figure like Tytus or Megator only a little bigger.

Good to hear. Thanks for replying! I think that will ease a few minds after Stay Puff and Snout Spouts nose.

That doesn't mean they won't mess up Granamyr in another way

No, but it does addresses the exact problem this thread was created to address. I believe this is the first confirmation (I may be wrong) regarding what type of material Granamyr will or won't be made from.

if you are trying to scare me, you succeeded!!

I don't want to skip on Spikor but I'll do it if I have to! I'm gonna wait 2 months after everybody gets him in case anything happens.

I hope the trident will be removable to have a non vac-metal alternative, but what's the point on bringing it? up matty doesn't listen or care

    Uh, I wouldn't.

I was on the fence already. As a completest, I was ready to just pick him up anyway, even though I don't particularly care about him and just finding a place to put him will be an issue.

But if he is made out of foam, no way in the world.

My Snout Spout has already had his nose dried out and it's only been a couple of months (can't even pose it any more, and I won't try after hearing about posters who have had them already break). I have never bought a GB, but almost did just because of how cool he is - but now I'm so glad I didn't.

Good to hear TG say it will be plastic - or no way I would have bought him.

I hadn't even considered it would be foam, but if it is...no sale here, for sure.
