Hello everyone! I've been a big fan of MOTU since I was a kid. In fact, one of my earliest toy memories is getting a set of Series 1 MOTU figures at Sears. Those old toys introduced me to He-Man, Skeletor, and the adventures of Eternia! Over time, I got more vintage figures, used Castle Grayskull as the main playset for all of my toys, and watched the Filmation series. After a while, I outgrew my toys and remember not being impressed by the live action MOTU movie when it came out. I even caught a couple of early episodes of the 200X series but, for the most part, I was done with the Masters of the Universe...Or so I thought!
For the past two years, I've been collecting Mattel's new WWE figures. They recently began selling Legends figures on Matty's site and that's where I saw the new MOTU Classic figures. I came across the line last year but decided to let it go. I loved the new look of them but didn't want to start collecting another line or pay outrageous online prices to catch up on earlier releases. Still, Matty's site was a huge temptation and my will was finally broken down by the Overlord of Evil!
Yes, I ordered a re-issue of Skeletor and loved the classic look, I felt like a kid again. Then it started; I needed He-Man, of course, and then...Man-At-Arms, Teela, Beast-Man...The original eight, why not?...Wait, Trap-Jaw, Tri-Klops, Evil Lynn, Man-E-Faces, and...Well, you get the idea!
So far, I've picked up over a dozen figures in the past two months and even bought the DVDs of the old Filmation & 200X series. It's fun to look back and rediscover this series, especially with all the new info from the Classics' bios, so I decided to join this forum. I'll post pics of my collection soon...I'm just waiting for a big shipment from Matty's March Madness sale!
Thanks for reading!
