Really really sad. J.R. Ewing was my all-time favorite villain -- even over Darth Vader and Clubber Lang, which is saying a lot. He was evil, but he also had charm and style. I'm sorry to see Larry Hagman moving on and I hope it's to a place of peace.

This is very sad. I have spent the past couple of years watching the old Dallas tv show and really enjoyed the new Dallas. Dallas without JR just won't be the same.

This is coincidental in that Jim Davis, who played Jock Ewing, also died during filming in the early 80s. I wonder how the show will change because of this sad news.

I know...truly, Larry was a television icon. Dallas will never be the same.

JR , Kojak , Columbo , Derrick (Derrick was a German cop show , it was HUGE in Europe and some Asian countries , aired for 25 yrs)......those guys were legends !

I'm VERY sad now but it did not come as a surprise with the struggles with cancer and his wifes illness

The three roles I'll always remember him in are J.R. Ewing, Major Nelson, and the Armed Forces guy from Superman who find Miss Tessmacher "unconscious" on the ground when Otis reprograms the rocket.
