Exactly. None of them were ever fully realized. If you're going to introduce new characters, you develop them; a full visual design, character background, what they can do, maybe even define their personality. They haven't done this with any of these name drops and scribbles. A great example of how the proper procedure in developing new characters is the old Mattel licensing guide and the MOTU Filmation pitch. Both of these documents show full character designs, a description/bio, and what they do. All of this should be developed prior to introducing a new character. Scott hasn't done this. It's a solid point that shows he should hand over any new creative content to professional writers, character designers, and toy developers.

The only new character that has been prolific has been the Mighty Spector. Surprise, surprise.

    ?????????
im not saying they planned some of those charcaters in the line im just saying that they gave them a change to being produced by insert them in the minicomic as a first step. dont forget that the 30th anniversary line and sub line were huge at that time with a lot of people craving for new and old motuc figures and a lot of subscribers...they messed up with stupid choices in terms of choosing charcaters (stra sisters, sll, spector, cy chop and so on) one year and a half ago there was the perception that this line could expand easily due to the many subbers (and money)

    Facet, your determination amazes me!

You donīt give up and you squeeze all those names out of…well…who ever answers those questions.

After i made the mistake and asked for the Comet warriors names(which i boldly regret) iīm trying to stay away from questions like that.

And i refuse to call the female comet warrior by a name which is a body part of someone else :

I personally love all the new characters and the expansion of the MOTU realm. The more the merrier. I know that some of the character development and things hasn't played out well, but I'd be excited and happy to see all these new characters in plastic form.

I picked your question facet because I couldn't see how the Matty team could NOT answer it correctly this time.

Glad we finally got those names out of Mattel

Thanks Niki, I am all for expanding this line, but if it is going to be done then it should be done properly. If you dont want a character to hold any importance, then make them as generic as possible, dont color him in , and dont name them. But when you got characters that stand out, like Spinwhiz, Snarlll the snow thief, and the Great Black Wizard then I want to see these characters fleshed out so that the MOTU universe so that it can expand. Now the snakemen have 9 named characters, up 50%. Now they feel like a faction rather then a mini faction. Granted im not thrilled with all the names, but unfortunately its to my call name them. I know some people aren't into seeing some of these characters "created out of thin air" but i agree with TG in regards to moving this brand forward, this is one of the best ways to do it. But, if you are going to it do it right, and make sure you have something fleshed out for each of these characters you a re creating to move the brand forward, not draw them in and forget about them.

Expanding and creating more characters is great and we need that. And curiosity isnīt wrong but in my case with the comet warriors i feel now as if they wereīt treated with respect and some of the answer you got were equally disrespectful or rushed.

Thatīs my personal issue though to be honest but iīm glad you finally got the answers you longed for and i guess you arenīt the only one who wanted to know who these people are or at least whatīs their name.

There are a lot of characters in MOTU/POP/NA who would need to fleshed out more but hopefully time will tell and we will get to that.

...and here is your 2016 sub folks! Seems like Scott/Mattel is trying to really showcase some new figures to add to the lineup.

Some new, actual Snake Men would be awesome! The Snake Men warriors are great, but they're generic. We need some new named characters! I'd say ditto with the Horde, but with a lot of them still to be made from the Filmation toon, there's not as much demand for "new" characters, Horde-wise.

Yeah so far we have Fang-or(the weapon-smith), Stretch Neck and Vy-por. I know the name sound silly, but in the scheme of things taking a look at the names from the 80's, they fit in. Also an idea for Stretch Neck. Why not use concept drawing of Rattlor as Streach Neck, If they dont have him drawn up already. What do you think

In regards to new Horde characters I think the only one we have is Snarlll the snow thief.

^^ There is Spin Whizz, technically. I think he was Horde & then he was reprogramed. Am I right?

^ On concept Rattlor, I'd be all for that being Stretch Neck, or anyone. I like it. I'm looking forward to Fang-Or, Snarrrlll (sigh at the spelling), Golden Rod & Bandwith. I really want to see these guys in better detail & I hope they have a small bio too.

Yeah good point on Spin-whizzz. And now that i think of it Golden Rod must be with the Horde cause hes not with the Snakemen, I think. He looks like Roboto with a chest plate.

I hadn't heard of these two other Snake Men before now. I like the idea of the Rattlor concept being Stretch Neck-- I bet that was even the original name associated with that drawing.

Yeah scott answered a question on he-man.org, indentifing those. Im am really glad that we are finally getting some more snakemen in the mix, its been too long, and they are def the weakest faction, in regards to numbers.

    From the slide-show at Mattypalooza.

Art by Axel Gimenez. Lot of great Filmation accessory easter-eggs.

There some interesting things, if you ask me.

All of them look as if they are designed with exciting MOTUC parts in mind. For example:

The great Wizard has Batros feet and the new Nepthu biceps. Skeletors FILMATION sword and the Shaping Staff.

Fangor comes with King Hsssīarms and legs and He-Ros boots.

Bandwith is Trap Jaw with a new torso but Optics shield.

Gladiator seems to have the Horde Troopers left leg and arm but Man at Armīs forearm protection.

Red Shadow seems to have Batrosī boots.

And iīm sure i missed a few things:

Fang-Or and the Great Black Wizard look pretty great, if there's room in 2016 then I'd be okay with them making it into the line. The other three seem bland (but with nice accessories). Are Red Shadow and Beast Lord the exact same guy? They look like they'd be the same, and Beast Lord is the only character from the new mini comics not shown here. Bandwidth and Gladiator fit in pretty well with Sir Laser-Lot, which somewhat addresses how out of place he seemed on Preternia. Oh, and is that Man-E-Faces' robot face on Bandwidth? That'd get people going for him probably. Overall though I'd still prefer the MVC Council of Wisdom to fill out the cast of PoG.
