I'm about to have this ready... Wheater and budget were not helping.

And also i cleaned and re-painted the previous one to make it look more traslucent and less gold, and to match in color both sides.

I'm working right now on the door, which would be hommage to the vintage playset... You'll see.

First of all, an apology for the unprofessional photos, for the mess on the work table. But I justify that mess by telling you that I'm working and that's a work table. And that plastic, as well as resin residues and other materials, do not get in the way of working. If I was taking professional photos with the final presentation of my project, that would be unforgivable; but these are WIP photos. And a workshop is not usually the most glamorous place.

I designed this new topper to merge the castle below and it will be to some extent a homage to the vintage castle -where the place for Light Hope will also go-.

Also, all the pieces, such as balconies and stairs, can be removed to make a more sober look, for those who are not interested in incorporating the castle that goes below in their display, and are only interested in the upper part.

This new design takes elements of the Filmation design, but also incorporates new elements to make its sculptural form a more functional and architectural object.

This castle is actually made in true scale and it is not an abstraction like most playsets. A true full 1/12 castle (for 1/12 inch or less) figures. Taking in consideration in this new canon the topper will be just that: a topper and not the entire castle. Because in this new concept, the tower is just one more architectural element in what represents the castle in its entirety. Not as shown in the cartoon where this tower represented the entire castle, and was accessed through the jewel and not through a door itself.

In this new concept the tower is a kind of mystical chapel at the top of the castle, wich is located on the mountain.

I'm doing my entire project with a new story in mind that takes elements from the cartoon, but also changes and/or incorporates new ones.

I would love to show you a final reveal, but i had to place this project a little bit on hold, due to lack of budget to complete it.

Mean while. I'll show you how this topper project started, so you can see, something that is is very common when some one design; that is improving on you first concept.

That is why i tend to avoid showing pictures while my projects are still WIP.

All of them tend to evolve and improve. I have the personal beleave, that, that is the way it should be... All good work, requieres a good amount of contemplation and analysis





Never completed this concept. I instead decided to go the next level, and make a 360º full castle, in true scale to the figures.
