Is Wonderbread He-Man real or is he a hoax? I was on a site that said that the Wonderbread He-Man is a hoax so, I don't know to go in search for it or not.

I usually don't care if they're hoaxes, if I like them, I buy them.
Which is the true Wonder-Bread He-Man? I've seen him in pics with no armor and a brown ax, and with black Zodak armor with red weapons. Which is the true Wondy?![]()

I think JOAH-MAN has one in it's baggie. It doesn't have the armor but has either the brown axe or the sword. RAGE
Here is a shot of my WB He-Man, just for corroboration (and personal pride). Enjoy.

I remember another Nestle's ad...and it could be false memories...but I remember the ad right on the Nestle's quick bottle for a free figure with UPC's or something...I could have sworn they even pictured Man E Faces on it.

Hey everyone. Still diggin thru documents. I have not had the time to devote to this...well at least not as much as I would like anyway. But I have not givin up. I will keep you posted
I did speak to two people that have these figures and neither of them had any idea what they were or their signiifance. However they both had them as children and both believe they got them in 1981. Neither is a collector and really are oblivious to the he-man world. I bought one of them for 5 bucks, so they obvisouly were not looking to make a buck. SO its a bit more info.
I think I may prefer Wonder Bread He-Man to the actual He-Man.![]()
Wonder Bread He-man is real, because many people own one from their youth, so we can assume it's not a custom someone made recently to cash in. As to the origins and which promotion he came from no one has a clue. And also the weapons he came with, no one has a clue either about the weapons and armor. It is assumed he came with the maroon ax and sword because the Fowlers bought one that came in a baggie and had a piece of paper and it had the ax and sword in the baggie. The black zodiac armor came from the fact that someone on the internet had one with the armor on so people assume it belongs to him. Until we find out which promotion sold him we will never know what his origins are and what weapons he came with. I personally believe it is an Early CONAN figure and when mattel decided not go the conan route, they had to get rid of them and gave them out in sometype of promtion. Mattel was recently asked by JVS3 about the origins but they said they had no records of him. I believe they know about the origin, but they are not going to tell us because in the early 80's they were sued by the Conan Franchise so they won't tell us if it is a conan figure because they could be sued again. The full court document was posted by POE GHOSTAL a while back, maybe he has the link and can post it again.
here are my WB He-man's, everyone else is showing theirs so heres mine.![]()

I too belive, that Wonder bread He-man is a Conan prototype.Originally Posted by Gilgamesh
yeah it's a Conan figure, no doubt, I just want to know what promotion it came from. The closest answer is from NESTLE QUIK.
I seriously doubt the Conan theory. It was said some time ago that the original "Conan" sculpt looked like Ah-nuld, but the face sculpt was changed. The interview with Mayer in Tomarts confirmed that the face sculpt was changed, but their story ignored the Conan angle (they still deny this, despite the lawsuit evidence to the contrary) and they stated they changed the face to look more the executive who was to approve the line or decline it.
For these to be Conan figures, they would have the original face sculpt (that, to the best of my knowledge was never produced in anything other than prototype form), not the new one we all know and love.
Back in the day, it was common for some figure lines to make many color variants with no rhyme or reason to them. Micronauts is a great example -- there was a rainbow of Time Travellers in that line..

still here and still no idea were that WB came from![]()
those are the coolest he-man variants in my opinion, to bad the sell for so much
I want to know if someone of the owners has the WonderBread since child, or bought it being an adult collector.
¡Ya tengo el PODER!
You don't believe the Fowler's bagged WB to be real? What about the little piece of paper they had with it for the mail in instructions for the promotion? It offered a choice between a Barbie toy, two other lines from Mattel, and MOTU, represented by Man-E-Faces. If this promotion was not for WB He-man, what did you get when you mailed away to that? I wish the page at he-mantoys.com was still available!
Just curious, and interested in the discusion.
Nils
I should have been more clear. I DO believe the Fowlers WB he-man to be real. The problem is that no one knows from what promotion the Fowlers baggie He-man came from.
So, if the bagged WB is real, isn't the question of what weapons settled? The maroon recast short sword and axe are in that bag. Do you know of any other site that has their bagged WB pics up? thanks
Nils
