Hello from the heartland of the USA
My name is Tim and I am living in Arkansas and this is a little of my history. I have been reading the boards here since back in the days of the 200x series but never had an account until late last year because of the rules against yahoo email addresses. I very rarely post but am trying to be more active lately. I have always loved He-Man and She-Ra since I was a kid growing up outside St. Louis. Star Wars, He-Man, Voltron & Transformers were the toys I loved the most as a child and has kept going throughout my adult life. Star Wars was the first love I have to say and was always special and the one even as I was growing up I never stopped collecting even though it got really hard to find anything in the late 80's / early 90's. The toys for them came back in 1995 and my toy collecting got serious. It pretty much kept to Star Wars though until 2002...
He-Man came back with an amazing new cartoon and a cool new toyline. Unfortunately as you know it was cancelled way to early for reasons anyone on here should be well aware of. Then one day I saw this new line of He-Man toys were coming out. I saw He-Man, Skeletor, Man-At-Arms and Beastman and thought they looked amazing but I wasn't going to get into them as they were a bit expensive and I had just got burned by the cancellation of the 200x line. I honestly completely forgot about them and went on with my Star Wars collecting.
One day I happened to come across a SDCC presentation of this amazing new Voltron that Mattel was producing. It was even bigger than the one I had as a kid that seemed huge to me. Not only that but it had figures for all 6 pilots that actually looked like the ones in the cartoon. I was blown away and went to Mattycollector and signed up for my first ever sub. While I was there something else caught my eye...
That He-Man line, Masters Of The Universe Classics, that I had forgotten about was still going. I started looking over the figures and noticed something that was truly amazing. She-Ra was part of this line too, along with Catra & Bow. And was that an actual Adora figure?? I was hooked. The reason I got frustrated and stopped collecting He-Man toys as a kid was because of the She-Ra line and how it wasn't like the He-Man one. I mean there were She-Ra's enemies right there in He-Man's line but they didn't fit in together? What idiot came up with that? This new line was finally making it right! Unfortunately I didn't think I had the money to support a Voltron and MOTUC sub so I didn't sub for 2012. I ended up getting almost every figure, including Shadow Weaver, from either Mattycollector or eBay. so when it came time for the 2013 sub I was all in and have subbed for every MOTUC sub since.
This line has been so amazing it makes everything else I have collected secondary including Star Wars. I can't wait to hear that the Club Etheria sub has met it's minimum and will go through in 8 days... and it better!!! Anyway that is my MOTU history in a nutshell, thanks for reading anyone who did.
