Let me begin to describe the ,,only way to do this.

So, you take a chessboard with He-Man and She-Ra on either side, then you base the story on classic inference from the filmation show ..(and a bit of cuteness from mini comics and the '87 movie), then you use the biggest, greatest, meaning and message of this based on the differences in boys and girls ..(or ethics at the core of humanity), then you start on a two movie plan with a build up and a cycle of growth, cast it using a divided grouping of famous and non-famous people including strong theatre/dance/singers/actors and other-worldly achievers like Astronauts and Olympians, as well as a less-inspired cast like Dolph Lundgren as Skeletor and anyone that wants to play creature-people (who can grunt and pose well).

This is just a rant, but also very important guideline of truth.

We can only pray to Procrustus that we don't end up getting what 'Jem and the Holograms' fans are getting as a movie...

Marlena crash lands on Eternia - pursued by a shadow beast soon after then rescued by Randor. they romance and quickly marry, Marlena becoming pregnant. Randor/Keldor begin to have a Thor/Loki dynamic under Miro, who dies soon after, leaving the throne to Randor.

Duncan. leader of the eternos army, reports dogfights his forces are having with mercenaries under the leadership of exiled Count Marzo. Keldor and Randor also fight Marzo a la Anakin/Obi Wan until Marzo imprisons Keldor and "seduces him to the dark side" in a manner of speaking

Marzo, answering to the dying Batros, a renegade Horde member from Etheria, is a devotee of the ancient Horde religion has a cult leader influence on Keldor - "You can be more powerful than any of them" while Keldor grows more wicked and studies more of the Horde than Marzo ever has, , Keldor's outcast Gar status fomenting this.

Keldor begins to recruit mutants, pirates and monster-humans from all corners of Eternia and builds an army to fight Randor. He summons Hordak who leads an assault on Eternos, where the kidnapping of Adora takes place.

Hordak disappears with her, but in a fit of rage, Randor launches an onslaught on Keldor, so savage, it disfigures Keldor (cauldron rather than phial of acid falls on his head or something)

Fast forward nineteen years to a period of civil war where Randor, weakened and betrayed, relies on his old friend Duncan to lead his ramshackle cybernetic army (all the heroic characters could be here, Fisto, Meckaneck etc and all in ManAtArms armor colours.)

teela fights alongside Duncan, putting life on the line while Adam is protected by the royal couple.

Duncan learns of the long lost Grayskull myths and that Adam, could be the key. It takes Teela to be kidnapped for Duncan to kidnap and force Adam and his advisor Orko to locate Grayskull, Duncan, in desperation, inadvertently helping Adam fulfil his family prophecy and becoming He-Man.

Cue He-Man behind-kicking scene then credits. There's your first movie.

No one is going to watch a He-Man movie in which the titular character does not even appear until just before the end credits.

That is not even a Cannon lore story.

The story starts with King Grayskull discovering that he "HAS the Power" after which Grayskull uses the power to banish Hordak to Despondos. The power of Grayskull is then infused into the power sword which is entrusted to Veena and Elders.

    Centuries pass:
(Marlena's origin and the birth of Adam and Adora is unneeded for a live action movie)
(Save the story about Hordak escaping Despondos and kidnapping Adora for the She-Ra movie)

A powerful warlord and wizard named Keldor is trying to conquer all of Eternia while searching for the secrets of elders. Keldor's war comes into conflict with King Randor and Man-at-Arms. After a desperate battle Keldor is defeated and disfigured which leads to his transformation into Skeletor.

Some time passes and Prince Adam comes of age. Keldor now Skeletor has returned and is wreaking havoc across Eternia. The whole planet is in crisis and King Randor's armies are being overwhelmed and defeated. Man-at-Arms though his secret relationship with the sorceress knows there is only one power and one last hope on Eternia that can defeat Skeletor this time. Queue Adam's quest to claim the power sword which he uses to summon the power of Grayskull to become He-Man. With his new found powers He-Man defeats Skeletor's armies and then defeats Skeletor himself. After the battle He-Man turns back into Price Adam and life returns to normal. Only 3 people know Adam's fabulous powers, the Sorceress, Man-at-Arms, and Orko.

    Roll Credits.

That's a good take but what I tried to do was mix minicomics, 200X, MOTUC and other takes into something the public and fans might go see - and there are only 28 mins of Batman in 'Batman Begins'.

There were quite a few complaints about the Hobbit movie adding characters that weren't in the book. However, it shouldn't be an issue with Masters of the Universe since there is such a wide variety of characters to choose from.

Teela, The Sorceress, and Evil-Lyn are all very strong female lead characters so there shouldn't be a need to add any new ones. The masters of the universe franchise has always been on the progressive side since day one. Hollywood should be pleased with the way the Female characters are treated by the existing cannon. Everyone pretty much accepts that Teela is going to be kicking ass in this movie. Of course there is She-Ra who is every bit the equal to He-Man.

As for other minority roles I could definitely see Zodak making an appearance in the movie. It may seem strange at first to consider Zodak being in the movie over other more popular characters. The fans would be more than willing to accept Zodak in the films because he has been part of story for over 30 years now.

Zodak is the balancing force between good and evil. Sometimes he even has little tussles with He-Man.

Make the movie Filmationesque. That's what the mass of people, not necessarily hard-core fans, remember and love. That's what made He-man huge in the 80's. The Filmation He-man and She-ra cartoons are still shown today in syndication, not New Adventures or 200X. That's saying something; the He-man and She-ra cartoons are Classics. There are young people today who are He-man and She-ra fans thanks to the re-runs of the Filmation MOTU and POP cartoons. Stop with the updates. Stop trying to fix what isn't broken. Why do hard-core fans keep resisting Filmation?

If they go for a more Filmation inspired look and feel, that makes McG a weirdly good fit, IMO.

Why don't they get JMS, Bob Forward, Larry D'tillio and Paul Dini to write the script?

Was Paul Dini the only one from the Batman TAS camp that worked on the old Filmation series? I'd let him and Bruce Timm take a crack at a script, but honestly if Christopher Yost has already got a treatment I'd use that. The problem with Sony is they have all the right tools, but no idea how to use them to make the blockbuster we all know MOTU could be.

Am I the only one who wants to see the other side characters more than He-Man himself? Man At Arms and Teela are expected, but can we see a live action Orko this time? Maybe a couple other Masters like Fisto, Roboto, or Moss Man?

Bob Forward was the best Filmation writer, followed by JMS and Larry D'tillio. Paul Dini writes too dark and gritty. And yes, Paul Dini is the only one from BATS.

So you pretty much want a G-Rated live-action adaption of the Filmation cartoon?

I want a Filmation-style animated "Secret of the Sword 2" movie that continues the story that is PG, PG-13 at most.

Main He-Man Movie Discussion (New News & Rumors)

Don't fans have most of the Animation cells from the Filmation He-man and She-ra cartoons? How hard would it be to get live-action actors to rotoscope around them, like Lou did back in the day? It would not be hard to get John Erwin, Melendy Britt, Alan Oppenheimer, and Erika Scheimer do the voices.

"Not everybody wants to see any changes, of course, but He-Man -- ever since he first premiered -- has evolved. Hey, when he first came out, there was no Prince Adam! So long as you stay true to the core concepts, it's always fun to explore the possibilities."

Main He-Man Movie Discussion (New News & Rumors)

The only widespread, successful, lasting incarnation has been Filmation's He-man and She-ra. It propelled the toys into a cultural phenomenon. They tried to explore the possibilities with the "Masters of the Universe" live-action 1987 movie, "New Adventures", and 200X and they almost killed He-man each time. The only thing that has kept He-man and She-ra alive through all of that are the Filmation He-man and She-ra cartoons playing on TV in syndication to this very day. Stop with the updates; not everything needs to be updated. This is just change for the sake of change.

I rolled my eyes at the fact Christmas even existed on Eternia. But yeah, I DO want a few more characters to show up, even if it's in the background of other scenes.
