    UPDATE October 2, 2018:

Mondo is pleased to officially announce its new line of Masters of the Universe collectible 1/6 scale figures. Impressively detailed and gorgeously crafted, the first of these new figures, He-Man, is now available for pre-order at Mondotees.com.

As huge fans the various Masters of the Universe figure lines throughout the years, and the multitude of art generated around them, Mondo Creative Director Brock Otterbacher and a team of artists set out to create a line of figures that not only pushed the characters in new, highly detailed directions, but also kept a sharp eye on the past.

Taking inspiration from the vintage figure line, the old mini comics, unused concept art, and even a sprinkle of bits from the live action movie, Mondo's Masters of the Universe 1/6 scale figure line is an exciting new take on these classic characters.

He-Man features over 30 points of articulation, fabric costume elements, and a whole host of accessories. It’s the most powerful figure you will ever find, from here to Eternia! Several figures are soon to follow, including Skeletor, Man-At-Arms, Mer-Man, and more.

To celebrate the new line, Mondo created a vintage toy commercial that serves as both a fun nod to the past and a look at the future. "The concept was to do an almost shot for shot recreation of one of the vintage Masters of the Universe commercials for the 80s, the twist being that the kids in those old commercials grew up, along with the Masters of the Universe figures they're playing with!" said Otterbacher.

Cool. I'm uneducated about the scales, but from what I ascertained, 1/6 is around 12"? I'll have to wait to see what these look like, but from the preview images, it looks like they'll pretty awesome.

    New motu line revealed!!

Masters of the Universe 1/6 Scale Figures by Mondo!!!
It looks like Mattel has really gone all out with licensing for the Masters of the Universe brand. We’re getting a ton of MOTU Exclusives from Super 7, and now a major bombshell has been announced. Over at Idle Hands, Mondo shared news that they will be making Masters of the Universe 1/6 Scale Figures. That’s right, a whole new line of detailed collectible MOTU figures coming from one of the hottest new players in the toy biz. They’ll be starting off with the He-Man and Skeletor.
“The idea is to take the basic designs of the original figures, some of the art from the original mini comics and packaging, add a bit of realism to them, along with a bit of our own tastes, and create a series of high-end figures that fans like us would be stoked to have. Designed by Dave Rapoza. Sculpted by Ramirez Studios. EPIC.”
These will NOT be on display at San Diego Comic-Con. They will make their first appearance at MondoCon on October 3-4th in Austin, TX.

Mondo is famous for being incredibly over-priced. I would have rather seen SS or HT take this on. I have a Hellboy statue on order from them. The price is crazy and its clearly not at the level of a Sideshow statue.

That said, I'll take a look and consider them.
    ALAS, POOR CLASSICS....

Top want list: Mask of Power Demons, Snake Goddess Teela, GITD Goddess, Snake Mountain Man, Dree-Elle & Montork, 200X Beast-Man, Red Beast, Ra-Jar, Great Black Wizard, Dragoon, King Torius, 200x Centaur Chief, Queen Andreeno.

The same guys who are doing the new NECA-like TMNT figures in the 1/6th scale.

I have to see what is being offered and more importantly, how much would they be?

Based on their pricing for some other items they create, I may assume that they are a little bit out of my (pocket) league. Although, I'd like to see the results

Price is going to be the big thing. Anyone heard how much the Turtles 12" figures are going to be? might give us a ballpark. I recall being tempted by their Iron Giant, but the cost was prohibitive.
