It's funny, their former ceo who just recently stepped down told me I wouldn't have to wait long for something Mondo and MOTU related.

For those who don't know Mondo primarily does amazing movie art prints and records but have recently branches out into figures. I'd expect a pretty high price point on it, but their products are top notch. Below are some examples of the work they do

I've never seen any of their toy products before, but it sounds like this could be interesting. And hopefully the character choices after He-Man and Skeletor aren't predictable.

I'm guessing they will be $300 each.
I'm probably limiting myself to one figure total at that price.

From the preview art I could go either way. Most of mondos stuff I'm not keen on. Im also not a fan of the sculptors style but I'm willing to wait and see. . I guess I'm spoiled by the 4horsemen.

If they're going 1/6 scale , I wonder If they're aiming for a Hot Toys approach?

Honestly most of this licensed stuff like the super 7 stuff isn't my cup of tea so I'm just sticking with Classics.

    Oh the wait........

All these licensed MOTU products that have been exploding forth in the last few weeks are cool, but for me it's all about Classics, and what the official re-branded continuation of the Classics line will be. I came to this thread all excited that it was news about the re-branded line, only to find this un-related stuff. Talk about virtual blue balls. I can't wait 2 more days!!!

figures or statues? Either way from what I am hearing I have very little doubt this is something in my price range, or even desireability. I do not like statues, precisely because they are expensive and I prefer toys.

Even if they are figures, much like all those beautiful 12 inch star wars characters that sideshow, ect, make, just way too pricey. 150 dollars, 300 dollars, just too much.

Yeah, Classics is perfect and with the range of characters they have I cannot see any other line getting close to this, specifically MOTU, for me to invest in. MOTUC is definitive for certain.

    Interesting.

I used to collect tons of 1/6 stuff but I got out of that market and I'm glad I did. I might be interested in these if the price is right. I'm not paying Hot Toys prices though if they aren't Hot Toys quality.

I like the embellishments that they've teased.

For some reason a lot of the embellishments to character designs we've seen over the past 15 years (from 200x and now the modern comic book designs) have basically been in the form of armadillo armor for everyone, with tons of sharp angles everywhere. IMO that aesthetic doesn't fit the spirit of MOTU.

    So far so good.

I'd much rather have high end 1:12 scale like mezco did with the Dark Knight Returns. Lots of detail but cheaper.

I would expect around $200 per figure, based on the prices of their competitors and Mondo's history of being the most expensive option.

TMNT figures they did look really nice, so I am carefully optimistic about this. Also that they are based on the original mini-comics makes it interesting too.

Room will once again be issue with this, I guess the overal look will tell if I get Skeletor. I do not need every figure, so price isn't that much of an issue.

I'm not sure if I'm going to like the look of these.

What do we call them MOTUM? The Mondoverse?

Designed by Dave Rapoza? Will definitely give these a chance. As Tallstar said, I hope their choices of others characters aren’t completely predictable.

At $200 or more, don't expect any B-listers!

I'm excited about the prospect! Price and design are the two biggest factors. I collect quite a bit 1/6 so I'm all for it.

Should I eliminate my expectation for Spikor?

Yes. but not because of price.

Because at that size/scale spikor's spikes are actual metal spikes. Think of that safety hazard.

Safety hazards aren't an issue with these types of things. But it is a very different kind of line. They could well consider it very successful and only ever do a half dozen figures.

The Power Sword looks horrible. If the end product looks anything like the concept art it'll be an easy pass for me.
200X fan? Classic fan? What does that mean? I'm a MotU fan!!!

Looks like Skeletor's sword, to me, which would be okay.
