    A Song of Heroes - A New Web Comic inspired by MOTU

    Hey Guys,

    I've decided to start posting my webcomic here. Please feel free to discuss the comic below. I'll post 4 new pages once a month. If you are impatient and want more frequent updates check the comics website at www.asongofheroes.com This is the place to discuss the comic though. :-) You'll hopefully recognize many of the characters in this comic as most started out life as MOTU fan characters. The comic is written by me drawn by 2bad (Jazyl) and colored by Vivek Nag and Santosh Pillewar Enjoy.

    Haha yep. Thugbug is definitely based on the horde template. His father the Red Wizard is sorta of a Keldor meets the horde type character.

    Here are the next 4 pages. I decided to do releases each week till we catch up to the main site.

    Patreek this looks wonderous, I have checked out more of this and it looks great. I need to sit down a completely read all of this. Story is easy to follow and art is captivating. A whole lot of characters that are familiar, in a way does this kind of attach to the motu mythos.

    I like to think of it as a sort of unofficial spinoff. Think of it as this is another planet near by. Lots of fan characters will show up. In fact I just finished writing a scene with Ickthia. And as you can see from the cover spy fly is coming. :-)

    Hey Guys! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I have been so busy with school and work and getting this comic published I haven't been as active in the fan art section.

    That said I wanted to let you all know that A Song of Heroes released its trade paper back of volume one this month. It is written and created by Patrick Ireland (aka Me Patreek haha) the TPB has line art by Jazyl Homavasir, known as 2-bad here and our friend Santosh Pillewar. We have spent the last two years preparing this book for publication and it has finally arrived after completing a successful Kickstarter campaign last year.



    		As a lot of you know A Song of Heroes is a Sci-Fantasy comic book that started life as a web comic and then moved into the hard copy format. A Song of Heroes is basically an unofficial spin-off of MOTU featuring many he-man.org fan characters. While not actually being linked to MOTU its characters and stories are meant to emulate them and be able to seamlessly fit into those worlds as a sort of side story or meanwhile on another planet adventure.

    Volume 1 of A Song of Heroes is entitled “The Amber Prison” and contains a 7-page mini comic detailing Thug-bug’s origin. This mini comic has line art by Jazyl Homavasir and colors by Vivek Nag. The mini comic is followed by 3 full sized issues introducing us to the story’s main villain, The Red Wizard who is currently employing Dipteraki workers to excavate a nearby cave. While we discover what he is looking for a flashback story serves as an origin story for his minion Spy-fly. Following the story content is over 15 pages of bonus material including creator and character bios, concept art, and a sneak peek at what is to come. All together this trade has been touched by many professional artists from the he-man.org fan community including Patrick Ireland (Treble Comics), Jazyl Homavasir (The Beast Legion), Santosh Pillewar (Sadashiv Creatives), Vivek Nag (Creative Connect), Cody Constable, Leanne Hannah (My Little Ponies, Transformers), Eric Marshall (He-man: Newspaper Comic Strips HC), Andrew Cramer (MVC’s Masters of the Universe, The Lil Five), Dheeraj Verma (Lady Death, Transformers), Bojan Andjelkovic and Rey Arzeno (RageGear Studios).
