    Greetings!

    Hello and all that jazz!

I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks and decided, what the heck I'll join and see what happens.

So a brief history of me and MOTU/POP:

I was just getting out of playing much with toys & action figures when the original line came out (I peaked as a kid with the Micronauts). A friend in elementary school brought in He-Man and Tri-Klops (as I recall) - and I remember holding them to see what they were like. The only time I had the original figures in my hands as a kid!

Watched the HMatMOTU cartoon, of course, but by the time She-Ra came to TV, I was in high school and missed all the weekday cartoons because of the later schedule I kept. Also missed out on the New Adventures of He-Man and the MYP show. It was during production (or not long after, not sure which) of the MYP show, though, that I found a few figures at a local convention and on a lark got them - Snake Hunter He-Man, Serpent Hunter Mekaneck and Snake Teela. I had them out on display with some other figures for awhile, but eventually put them away.

When Dark Horse came out with the mini-comic collection, I picked it up. I'd heard the He-Man mini-comics were some of the best mini-comics done in the 80s mini-comics boom and it had a number of solid artists I was already familiar with. After finishing it (it was great!), I got to thinking about what the line was like now. Found out about MOTUC and I read some reviews and I have to say I really liked what I saw of the MOTUC line.

I was on the fence about jumping in to buy any though, but I read a review of the Octavia figure (a character I'm not even sure I've seen in the Filmation cartoons) and that figure tipped me over. I was already planning to go to two different local conventions, one a comic convention, the other a toy convention. Between the two of them and the Matty site I got a few figures (plus a complete and in-box Oberon for my Micronauts' Force Commander at the toy convention, bwa-ha-ha! *ahem*). Started coming here regularly to read more about the line, upcoming developments, ankles and such.

Which leads me to joining and this post!

I also dug out the old figures and found besides the ones I remembered above I also had Mer-Man. I don't remember getting Mer-Man and I'm not sure how he got there.

I can only guess I got him so Snake Teela wouldn't be so put upon having the other two hunt her all the time, but I don't recall doing it!

Anyhow, since Octavia was what pushed me over on my way here, here's a shot of her (I gave her Snake Teela's sword so she would have a weapon in each hands - and she got the drop on poor Moss Man and Peekablue...)

    tl;dnr: Hello.

    Welcome to the forums!

And it's great you're jumping back into things. As far as many are concerned, the MOTUC line is one of the best things ever in the history of MOTU and POP.
Hope to see you at Power-Con, America's Mightiest Toy Convention!
