Well, as you might be able to glean from my highly sophisticated, hacker-level username, my name is Cory. A tradition when I was young was to go to lunch with my grandpa every Wednesday and he would then buy me a "little something," as we called it. One fateful Wednesday, that "little something" was Ram Man and my love of Masters of the Universe began in earnest.
I owned most of the original action figures: all of waves 1-4 and most of 5. I was aged out of action figures by the time the final wave hit stores, so I never even knew that they made the Sorceress or King Randor until I looked it up online to see how short I was of a complete collection.
I owned Castle Grayskull, Snake Mountain, and the Fright Zone. My mom put her foot down: no Slime Pit in her house (though I did own a tub of slime I was never allowed to open).
When my son started to watch cartoons, I realized that most of the cartoons today are ... dumb. So I started him off on cartoons from the 80s, and now several years later at the tender age of 8 he realizes that 80s cartoons are just... better than the crap they have now. He still watches the crap they have now, don't get me wrong, but he enjoys my cartoons much more. He was even jealous of me getting to grow up with better cartoons at one point.
He's enjoyed Thundarr the Barbarian and C.O.P.S. He shunned Silverhawks just based on the intro. But the big constant? He-man. He's watched Filmation and the Mike Young Productions cartoons for years (the latter being his favorite). Between my dad and I, we've slowly obtained a collection of action figures from the 80s (and a couple of MOTU Classics and even one 200x) which he still plays with. His crown jewel is Snake Mountain, since he's a villains guy (just like me).
I joined back in October but never posted until now. What brought me back was reading a story about the live action He-man movie that is supposed to release in December of 2019. I read somewhere that the studio has forbidden Skeletor from appearing in the movie. Some might take that as a horrible oversight, but as a writer I took it as a challenge. I developed an original outline/treatment based on what I would do if I were the screenwriter for the new movie and couldn't use Skeletor as the antagonist. I think I came up with a clever work-around that would make a fantastic movie.
Anyway, I'm done with this novel. I hope to see everyone around the forums. I assume that there is a fan fiction forum somewhere nearby and I will likely hang out there and talk more detail about my ideas. I'm not really much of a collector (4 kids + Fast Food Job = No Spare Income) but I love looking at everyone else's pics.

That was a great introduction and cool story about how Ram Man ignited your love of MOTU!! It's also awesome that you've shared and enjoy so many cool things together with your son, that's what it's all about!! We do have a Fan Fic section and I'm sure everyone will love to see what you've come up with, so please share it. We have the best He-Fans and She-Ravers around and as always, we have great ongoing MOTU and POP discussions, so feel free to join in the conversation!!
