    New Here

    Hey all,

I just recently got re-introduced to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe by introducing the franchise to my 5 year old daughter. I was excited to see MOTU show up on Netflix and even more excited to show it to my kid.

You see, I was born in ‘86 and unfortunately I missed when MOTU ruled the world. Believe you me, I feel a robbed. I was lucky enough to be introduced to He-Man by a cousin of mine when I was young, but it never stuck. The show didn’t air regularly (or at least I didn’t have the channel/was unaware) and by the time I was wise enough to know when shows aired, I was all in with Batman the Animated Series and other cartoons like X-Men Animated Series.

I’m essentially discovering the He-Man universe for the first time and I’m excited to soak up all the lore. From the comics to the cartoons, I’m ready to take the deep-dive plunge. What’s great, is that my kiddo is just as excited. I find the lessons at the end of Filmation’s episodes are charming and excellent. My daughter and I enjoy discussing thier relevance and I’m happy to see how they have already had an impact on her integrity and overall character.

Its rough to see how the prices on He-Man merch has sky rocketed. Can not believe that a classics He-Man figure will cost me nearly $100, loose! I’m trying to do my research on pricing out figures - and I welcome any help (please!) for resources. My daughter really wants to collect the figures too and enjoys the vintage stuff, god help me and my wallet. The wife will not enjoy this new hobby

I’m happy to have found this community and look forward to meeting fellow fans! Thanks.

    Hello, Fly_Destryr22!

Even if you "missed" the time when MotU was really huge, it's always time to catch up, especially with the help of a 5-year-old's excitement and point of view.

Feel free to PM me if you need help finding some good deals. Even if I was lucky enough that my parents could buy some figures for me back in the day, I'm still on the lookout for the ones I wanted but didn't get to have for whatever reason.
