80s Collector, Hiya

Hello all,

My names Ash, Im English but live in Germany (Niedersachsen, Oldenburg, Bremen area for the Germans / About 90 mins East from Groningen for the Dutch, for all the others, top left Germany) and I work in Holland, as I live near the border so travelling to work is easy... until BREXIT... and my Passport transforms itself overnight from a fanstatic, perk filled, little 'golden ticket always in my pocket', into a worthless little scrap of red paper, wortless of any value. Its magical powers of healthcare, rights, travel lost and never to be found, replaced with new expenses, costs and troubles never witnesses before...

I have been collecting MOTU 80s stuff for about a year now, after having a lifelong love of the toys and the program. My collection started when one day I was going through some old boxes from my childhood and I found a goldmine of toys, which I had totally forgotten about. As I skimmed through the boxes, the MOTU stuff caught my eye and since then, I have been trying to complete my set! Hopefully I can meet a few guys and gals here who understand my obsession haha.

I have been doing the rounds of flohmarkts (German for flea markets, carboot sales, garage sales etc.) and to be honest, was totally shocked at how LITTLE stuff is out there. Really shocked. I was completely dillusional when I started collecting, thinking I would go a couple of times and complete the set. I dont even see the usual 'trade' stands (you know, the computer game stands. Which have thousands of terrible kept, rain/sun stained carts, which have sat on their stands for years without any love or passion). Ebay, Facebook etc. are quite good, but there is still some stuff that I never ever see, I think its made up haha.

I dont really have much stuff worth selling (as a new collector, I bought loads of 'impulse' junk) but I love to swap/trade and try to find new deals and i really enjoy the frustration of searching for a 'hard to find accessory' or nice quality char. I hope to find some parts and items here on this forum, but more importantly it would be great to actually talk to people who dont look at my new 'ebay find' and think, I could have bought a PS Game or, that costs a night out in the pub?!

By the way.. . This auto save feature on this forum is AMAZING. I leant on my keyboard whilst sipping my coffee and left the page, losing all my text... Its all here again!!! Amazing... and not so amazing for some, as I was so annoyed I would not of retyped it all and my intro would have been 'Hi, Ash here, I like He Man stuff'.

Anyway, sorry about the ramble. I am pleased I found this place.

Welcome to the forums! I'd be curious to go to a flea market in Germany. In the US, you can still find stuff, but it's also getting harder and harder to find anything unless it's a vendor who specializes in toys.
