I suspect it's to tie-in with Revelation, which -- according to the action figure picture, anyway -- has the H instead of a cross. Anyways, we've got 6 He-Men with the cross on it already... I welcome some variation.

From a branding standpoint I completely understand switching the cross for the H. I will always identify He-Man with the cross but the H makes a lot more sense in my opinion when you think of branding. While there are other characters that use Superman’s S or Batman’s Bat, etc., they are in the same universe and tied to the main character in some way. The iron cross is generic in the sense that it’s everywhere and not He-Man’s per se.

Plus in today’s climate they probably decided it was time to switch before somebody got tired of making problems elsewhere and turned their outrage sights on He-Man. There’s always gotta be the next target. Only a matter of time. The H has precedent and is part of the history. No other logo they’ve tried is as close to being iconic. The new cgi version is an effort but I can’t see it sticking.

As I’ve said elsewhere, if they just had to change it this was the absolute best choice in my opinion. And like zodak64 said the change is almost negligible. Heck as he switched armors so much with the different original releases the cross could still be around and canon. Or like you said maybe it’s just a variant but the new Revelations figure has this same logo. We’ll see!

I've never been attached to the cross symbol, though I always thought it looked better than the 200X asterick (I have the first run He-Man with the cross and do tend to display that over the regular run 200X He-Man, but it's more because I just don't think the 200X harness symbol ever looked good... in toy or animation).
Switching to the H doesn't rile me up none... there's an H on Battle Armor He-Man, Thunder Punch He-Man, Flying Fists He-Man... so it doesn't really feel like a foreign concept to me.
Yeah, I am fine with them phasing out the cross and give MOTU a marketable symbol to use. The astrick symbol was never good. The horde have a symbol as do the snakemen. Skeletor kind of has the cross bone or havoc staff but nothing you can slap on merch like a cobra symbol or decepticon logo. As you said, we have seen it before so it isn't really new.

This is a sign that the H is def a move forward plan.

The tiny mini figs still have a cross and were prob too far along in production to change the cross and it isn't like a a light switch and everything changes.

Are those micro figures maybe from the “world’s smallest” collection? Seems like they can move arms/legs even.

Why has Skeletor 2 of the armor bones yellow?

Very happy with the H. He-Man having a cross has never made sense. Will probably buy an extra to swap out one of my regular He-Man figures.

Man-E-Faces is my favorite character - very happy to get him!

Would really like the santa hats to be removable so my Mega astronauts and vikings could get in the spirit.

    Also, a couple more photos:

The microfigures seem to have been created just for this set to go with the mini vehicles. I don't believe they have any articulation.

It is odd how they made the bones on Skeletor's harness half green. I figure that was so he would have some XMas coloring.

I'm tempted to get this come August.

Adora and Santa Prince Adam would have been perfect for this set. heh

Man-E-Faces is my favorite character too (well tied with Ram Man).

I believe the Santa Hats are removable as their hair is attached and will probably come off (like the usual hair pieces and Man-at-arms helmet).

MC MOTU is my favorite line I am collecting right now. This is just another awesome set.

Other than the Ram Man part of your comment, I agree with your comment completely. M-E-F was one of my first figures as a kid (got He-Man, Skeletor, then no figures for a bit, then M-E-F) and he was just one of my favorites immediately. I never got into Classics because I'm a TF and GI Joe man primarily and didn't have room for them. Same now with Origins. But once the Mega Construx figures came out, I was in love. And they were small enough that I could collect them and not run out of space. I'm really excited for the micro figs in this set, even though they don't look to have any articulation at all. They have the seams where the articulation would be, so I'm thinking I may just have to get two sets, so I can cut one up to give them articulation.

Hopefully they sell these at target, I know this was mentioned before but I saw the Skeletor heads for the first time at a target store today.

That would be VERY COOL. I don't like going to Sprawl*Mart for anything. Also there are more Targets close to me. I STILL haven't seen a Skele-head though.

Spotted it as well. That might indicate we should also get another standard Orko (hopefully

Is it an H or an M? Haha. The cross bar has the pointy thing going down further than the top side.

I ask, but I am pretty sure that design has been around forever and is a settled question.

Yes, it is an H and an M, for He-Man, you know

And yes again, it's been there since the first years of He-Man, the battle-armoured one to be exact.
