If the top grossing film of all time was say, Batman V. Superman Dawn of Justice, I highly doubt he would have any such arguments against it...

Yes, it did. It included an extended sex scene.
    Thanks for the info!

I feel entertained even by watching a thriller or a drama. Life its not just funny things and smilies but many things
Comic book movies? Sure, they're lot entertaining, sure makes you feel excited by watching a huge amount of CGI with a non sense plot, it really is a spectacle for the eyes. Just that. But its cool. Just think its so little such genre its the most watched by viewers all over the planet, but accept it is also what let Hollywood industry (and worlwide as weill) billionz od dollars in a small amount of weeks.
Well after the Disney's Avengers it's assured by now that people go to the movies just to have fun. Cool, I get it but I'd hoped a better for the 1# highest grossing movie of all time (inflation not adjusted, lets not forget)
Action and adventure and fantasy. That's what I said in my post. How did you get Martial arts/Jackie Chan from that?

"What kind of movies do you like?"
"I like action/adventure, fantasy style movies."
"Oh you mean like Jackie Chan movies. Gotcha.".

So anyway you might want to look at list and notice that that vast majority of the highest grossing movies all share a common trait: being PG-13 or less. The type of movies you describe are usually "R" rated. You should check that list out and understand they won't make near as much money as a film that kids can see. But be warned, most of the movies on that list are also Jackie Chan style movies.

Now what's wrong with you people? I like Jackie Chan movies
and by the way Chan movies are action/adventures mixed with martial arts, stunt doubles and cheesy fun
go study the entire filmography of Mr Chan in the nerdpedia and then let me know

ok, right, interesting but sad. So what's the point? For me still not fair and it sucks, my humble opinion; I hope one day a solid PG-13 will represent the #1 highest grossing movie of all time, but not in this era I guess.
so C'mon we want a porn movie being #1 for the next year, agree with me? right?
    let's have some fun lol

I knew this was coming. But no, believe, it's a big NO Judas.
    My was just some thoughts on today's society in general and changing habits of teenagers,it was about contemplating how much I can't get Millenials and their life styles....a plastic life with no substance . But that's just me;
also had to express my compliments to (ugh, cough) Marvel MCU without hesitation, their dedicated work on their movies is just unbelievable; My fave Marvel character is Spidey and X-Men because of the 90s series I grew up with

So your not going to mention those "Classics" that DC has put out or just forget about them?

For me it's usually a case of how MUCH CGI there is. It stands out a lot in the TPM but there is a lot of practical effects and human actors running around too. (Actually I didn't even mind the cgi in TPM... it was some of the new stuff in the special editions that look TERRIBLE by todays standards... ) I can get past that occassionaly. Avatar? It was ALL CGI. The cat people, the mech suits, the ships, the monsters, the entire world... there's a vast section of that movie that seems like a cut scene in a video game. When all it has going for it is CGI... then that CGI needs to hold up.

I still love the scenery... and when that was combined with 3D I remember it being the best I'd ever seen (and still do) but a lot of the rest of it... not so much.

I like his movies too but when I say action, adventure, fantasy movies I'm fairly certain you're the only person I know who thinks of Jackie Chan. A lot of weirdos out there might have thought of movies like Star Wars, LOTR, Indiana Jones, or a ton of others before they got to Jackie.

I was just pointing out that movies for kids are always going to be high earners. Let's put it this way, judging how good or bad a movie is based on earnings really isn't the way to go. To me, it's not even a fair assessment of how popular a movie is given that many times parents will take kids back to see the same movie over and over.

I have never scene a 3D movie at the cinema.
I seen a video about Avatar the other day and about all the messages in the movie about the environment etc and they joked saying if they were so concerned about the environment etc they should have just donated all the millons of dollars it cost rather than making the movie.

Look, I'm open to anything in this age and era of ignorance and populism and I would not be shocked if Black Panther could win post Oscar for best movie ever or Avengers Endgame getting a nobel prize for oustanding contribution to the entertainment industry. Anything could happen, believe me. A bit Tar Swamp here must admit

This is the ony chart for me that make the cinema great
yep! the adjusted for inflation, the golden age of Hollywood!
and yes I'm ok with 2002 Spider Man and 89 Batman being there, they aged well

Fun comic books are ok but should not become a trend, there's too much of them already but general audiences responds to them and buy what capitalism is offering wihout any pre-conceptual knowledge
Well, as said, the PG-13 chart is mostly comic book heroes, it's the most commercial side of Hollywood, what makes money the most and keep the industry going I suppose. This is fact, I get it.

I guess we are all brain dead and don't know no better.... I love how things are a "trend" if they are popular...but when they are not they are then what?

Most people like them but the one's that really get the things that most moviegoers miss is what I love all the little easter eggs... Because I know the source material
