So yeah, additional casting is the next thing I'm waiting for.

Ynon Kreiz, Mattel's CEO, is talking about Masters of the Universe right now on a conference call! ("DA DAVIDSON CONSUMER GROWTH CONFERENCE")

    https://mattel.gcs-web.com/events-presentations

He confirms the plans for the March 2021 release. Plus, he says it will be a 'Marvel level' big-budget movie.

This is how Ynon put it:

"The first announcement that we made in terms of a release date is for Masters of the Universe, with Sony, which will be in March of 2021. This is a big-budget action superhero movie in the same vein as Marvel. When I say high budget this is at the Marvel level..."

There are some other brief comments about Masters during that part of the conference call. Masters will be the first project they launch out of the movies they've announced. Hopefully they will post a transcript soon.

EDIT: Looks like the audio is up. Click here to listen.

It's a good sign, but in no way definitive. MGM took out a full page ad in Variety about the film-to-be based on my bestseller, NO PLACE LIKE HOME. Two months later Producer Willian Castle passed away and the project went into turnaround. Moral of the story? It's never a film until it's a film.

Very exciting stuff!!!! Fingers crossed for some great new toys and product out of all of this!!! Other than an awesome movie, I would LOVE to see MOTU video game in the style of Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat!!!!!! A crossover in the next Injustice would be a natural fit!!!

It's happening and franchise is being relaunched like never before!
gone are the days of the 87 movie, NA and 200x. This is it and will look visually amazing.
Another last attempt to reinvigorate this iconic franchise, one last time, for the fans, for the new ones!

Really like the tagline "Let the power returns", maybe is it no more Adam/He-Man secret identity like in the most recent DC comics? or perhaps something else? WHat they have in mind.....this year SDCC will be great!
"The Most Powerful Man in the Universe..."
    "Where Hope seems Lost..."
    "Good Journey!"
"I was summoned on the future..."
"A Hero shall emerge to protect Eternia..."
    "A Hero will Rise..."
    "The Power of Grayskull Awakens......"
    "Let the Power Returns....!"

At the bottom of the poster it says to "Visit us at our booth". So MOTU will have some sort of presence there. I wonder if the Nee brothers will be there. It’s from June 3rd to the 6th, I think.

Feel like they need at LEAST the amount of time a 3/5/21 release date gives them to re-introduce the brand if they are serious about spending “Marvel money” to make a movie. Movies like that depend on people in the 25 and under crowd going to see them in droves, and nobody that age has any real idea of who He-Man is, except in maybe some ironic, comedic sense.

I would make sure there is a video game for both home consoles and handheld devices ready by no later than next summer.

"Let the power return" is a reference to the last episode of Filmation MotU S2E65 The problem with power in which He-Man transforms back into Prince Adam by saying "Let the power return." This was the one and only time we ever saw the transformation sequence in reverse.

These are exciting times for the franchise. It is indeed happening there is no doubt about.

This is really exciting news. Yes I know it's only a grey title, nothing too flashy, but it's confirmation things are getting serious and it's the vintage logo too (which always helps)

I'm glad it's going to be a big budget Marvel type of movie - it needs to be, plus it needs to hook a new audience on this one chance, so it's good they're thinking big.

I'm excited to find out what new items we will see in the build up to the movie's release.
MOTU Origins Wishlist: Oo-Larr, Karg, Lady Slither, Fang-Or, Goat-Man, Movie He-Man & Skeletor, Hawke, Slamurai, Shadow Weaver, Lodar, Snake Face, Geldor, Lord Gr'Asp, Strobo

Yeah, yeah, I know she's forty-nine. To quote Tony Horton -- my P90X god -- "Aging is for those who don't know any better." Trust me, Uma knows better than to age. Forever sizzling.

Having Uma and her amazing talent and hotness in the film would elevate it to a much higher and broader level imo.
Amen, man!! I'm right there with ya!! Back when the Grayskull movie first started rumbling around... what 10 years ago now, my ONLY suggestion for Evil-Lyn was Uma Thurman!! And I still stand by that. I think she'd be perfectly cast in that role. She has those long fingered hands(perfect for "spell casting"), a gorgeous body, and a very unique face... She's PERFECT!!!

Well, I hope that the title changes. I don't like the name of "He-Man" in the title like that. What's wrong with just "Masters of the Universe?" Or, perhaps, "Masters of the Universe: Something something."

Anyway, I do like how this designer listed vehicles in their design description, so we know that the movie will them. I just hope that it doesn't have stuff too sci-fi and keeps the balance between the tech and fantasy.

I don't mind the title, I kind of wish that they put in "and the" to make it sound complete.

The designer's art is cool but very sci-fi and futuristic, I hope we get some otherworldly, weirdness to the film too and colour!

The title doesn't really make sense...

He-Man...Masters... Masters is plural and He-Man is singular. Would multiple He-Man characters be known as "He-Mans, He-Men, or just He-Man?"
