I have been a pro wrestling fan nearly as long as I have been into MOTU but because the current wrestling climate doesn't interest me I am not too bothered about these in general.
However the Macho Man At Arms figure I do love the look of so will get that one. I don't get why they haven't done a Becky Lynch Teela figure. She has the red hair etc seems missed opportunity. Evil Lyn you could have as Alexa Bliss also.

Let's be honest: Mattel has the rights for both of these properties, so it's not like they've went out of their way to obtain some strange new license to mix with MOTU, and there would seem to be a tremendous amount of crossover between WWE fans and MOTU fans. This is probably a really good idea and definitely a way to help connect the property to something else that's currently still very popular. Plus, WWE will advertise these. They're phenomenal at Advertising. Heck, the only place I ever see advertisements for toys is on WWE programming.

Brilliant to release this line first. Tons of kids know WWE these days and will buy these figures, then when the MOTU line launches in a year, basically all those same kids will start buying MOTU too because they fit with the toys they will already have, and while they won't be familiar with the characters, they will love having them because MOTU as such awesome character design.

These look really fun and if they are available at retail here along with Origins I will probably buy them. The armour, arms waists/legs and boots are all interchangeable so it will be really fun for kids...and adults...to customise.
Latest PixelDan video on them has a Mattel rep saying MOTWWEU will ship (with mini booklets that have a comics page and lore) before Christmas 2019. Several waves planned and MOTUO will follow late next year.
Swappable parts at the neck, shoulder, hand, waist, and bootcut with customization and mix and match with MOTUO as an intended play feature.
Part of the articulation design is that these are basically meant to be mixed and matched like Hasbro’s Hero Mashers.

It makes sense for Roman Reigns to be a Fisto like character. It makes sense for the New Day to be a Man-E-Faces like character. I liked the promo HHH cut about the line. It's worth watching. In my opinion. I like Cena/He-Man's translucent shield and ax. I get it. You can't see him. or those two items.
So, I can give the line credit but I just don't know. If I had to pick one figure to buy it's Roman Reigns/Fisto and you wouldn't have to twist my arm all that much.

Like I said: I'm not a wrestling guy.
I want that ring. And I want Randy Savage. I would be tempted by Hulk Hogan (who I prefer not to think of outside his 80s character) or Sgt. Slaughter or The Rock. It's not a line I have an urge to collect but with the pieces all being designed for swapping, there's some cool custom potential.
Right off the bat, the wrestling figures give us ingredients for a New Adventures custom with all that spandex. Dissolve the paint off Rey Mysterio in some rubbing alcohol and BOOM blue pants for NA He-Man or He-Ro.
Are those interchangeable plates for Macho-Man-at-Arms? I guess that pretty much confirms how MOTU Orgins Battle Armor He-Man will come out. I was kind of hoping they would have the same action feature as back in the day. That would have been fun.

You realize this has NOTHING to do with MOTU, right? WWE has it's own budget, it's own line, it's own team, etc. No WWE figures, even ones with a MOTU theme, are taking away any funding for MOTU Classics. WWE is Mattel's boys toys cash cow. If anything, mixing WWE and MOTU gives MOTU more life in Mattel.
My kids really like the Man E Faces New Day and Stratos Rey Mysterio. Some of the characters look like they aren't really representing just 1 particular MOTU character.
