    Lots of interesting mixes we could see in the WWE line:

    * Brock Lesnar as Hordak, complete with Paul Heyman as Imp!
    * Undertaker as Scareglow!
    * A Bret "The Hitman" Heart themed Landshark!
    * Vince McMahon as Skeletor!
    * The Rock as Clamp Champ!
    * Andre the Giant as Ram Man!
    * Paige as Catra!
    * Cactus Jack or Kane as Trap Jaw!
    * Randy Orton as Kobra Khan!
    * Jake "The Snake" Roberts as King Hiss!
    * Daniel Bryan as Moss Man!
    * Asuka as Sorceress!
    * Golddust as Blast Attak!
    * AJ Lee as Evil-Lyn!
    * Goldberg as Fisto!
    * Mark Henry as Grizzlor!

    Since Mattel no longer holds the DC license after December that option wasn't on the table. I'm sure if Mattel was still holding the DC license they would have approached them about this concept.

    WWE seems to be down for almost anything crossover wise.

    Good luck with that. May want to check out the last few years on the goings on between the Punk family and the WWE, doubt either CM Punk or his wife AJ Lee will be signing any new contracts to work with the WWE in any capacity any time in the near future, even for one of their action figure lines.

    Well, this guy should be fairly easy to customize into a MOTU-style Shao Kahn figure.

    After checking them out, I am pretty happy about this line!

    I have NO intentions of buying a single one of them, but it shows a big commitment to the MOTU brand by Mattel. Obviously, they plan on getting lots of use out of the new Origins bucks. That should mean lots of MOTU figures.

    mattel has been doing some awesome things with their wwe toys for some time! i'm not into watching it at all but have picked up plenty of their monster, zombie and create a superstar figures. i'm actually most excited for this line because it is like getting new characters! muscle bound 5.5" figures will always be my favourite style figure... no matter what the theme.

    Those Create a Superstar sets were awesome, because all the accessories were compatible with Classics. I wish that line would have lasted longer.
    Please check out my custom figures. The first few stink but I get better.

    I never knew that about Create a Superstar, though I never really looked too much into it. Honestly it always seemed like the WWE aspect was just kinda thrown in the mix. Part of me wishes Mattel would have taken a risk and just marketed it as a stand alone modular figure system. Probably the reason I am looking forward to the WWE Masters and Origins.

    motu and wrestling figures were like the first to have this look... so it makes sense that this is where they would restart... with a little success the universes could totally expand though: masters of the Jurassic universe, masters of the Halo universe, masters of the DC universe, masters of the Hot Wheels universe... masters of the kpop universe

    Shoot, these might be handy in customizing MOTUC figures, too.

    If you go back to look for the sets, the highlights are the Sting set (I think they call it vigilante) for a cool trench coat and Hawkman-style wings, the Lucha set for the same wings in a different color, the Kane set which comes with armor that has like a rib cage on it and a pair of bat wings, a Barbarian Set with a great cape, loincloth, and Warduke style shield, the gladiator set with great armor and helmet, and the Bray Wyatt set with a mask and apron that lets you build a cool Leatherface.

    Too bad they already have Cena as Faker.... the UnderFaker seemed like a no-brained.

    Ram Bam Bigelo would be cool too
    Big Moss Man is another one

    You know who else is down for crossovers?

    Ghostbusters. Crossing over with WWE and Transformers this year.

    Need some MOTU Ghostbusters. Scareglow Staypuft. Evil-Lyn Zuul. Demon dog Battlecat. Proton Sword He-Man. Real Ghostbusters in 5.5. And surprise guests from Filmation Ghostbusters Prime Evil and Traci the Ape.

    I'm looking forward to this line. MOTU and WWE are two of the only lines I collect these days.

    And I'm especially excited that my two favorite wrestlers, the Ultimate Warrior and Sting, are already going to be included. And Warrior even sounds like he's the hero of the universe.

    Rey Mysterio has previously worn outfits that represent comics characters, wonder what the odds are of him having that Stratos Outfit made for an entrance when they are released

    The responses in this thread hurt my head, as I am not thrilled with MOTUO dominating MOTUC (if that's the case defined)... BUT...

    ... obviously MOTUO are design to "mash" with MOTUC as much as two totally distinct scales could be designed.

    Plus, even if I wasn't into collecting vintage scaled MOTU (but I am), the cheaper price-point MOTUO are quite appealing, and will be impossible to resist, especially because of their compatibility, not as much with MOTUC figures (which admittedly is cool).... but, man, won't the MOTUOs look cool in a MOTUC Castle Grayskull.

    And so, to me, these MOTWWEU wrestlers just add more to the sum total... if only for their accessories.

    I don't work for Mattel, but, this is obviously their game plan.

    Some MOTU fans here are freaked out about the creation of this MOTWWEU line...MOTUC fans, it looks like...again, I see the same "MOTUC chaos" you're seeing... but, I suppose my point with all this is that this MOTWWEU thing seems better than many alternatives.

    Kudos to those who want them, but I have never been interested in wrestling, and have no interest in these. That also gives me one less panel at Power Con to worry about attending (which means another hour on the sales floor for me ).

    They’re doing WWE Ghostbusters.

    My impression is that Ghostbusters, TMNT, and DC are all abandoning the concept of master licenses in favor of targeted licenses.

    Playmates and Hasbro got deals for TMNT Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters Transformers. DC Collectibles, NECA, and Super7 are all doing different TMNT licenses.

    Heck, since I’ve heard Funko isn’t pursuing a DC 5.5 license, McFarlane doesn’t have a license sub-6 inches, and Spinmaster is kids based, Mattel might be able to get a collector 5.5 license for Superman and Batman on the Origins buck as a BBTS/EE/Amazon set or something.

    There isn’t “one license” for this stuff anymore. It’s all subdivided by collector/kids, scale, retail channel, and price.

    I must say, I have warmed to these. Probably not enough to actually buy any (but we'll see), but yeah. They're pretty cool.

    Can I just ask, is there a narrative to back these figures up? Any story or anything like that?

    Supposedly, each will come with a mini-comic for their story.

    Nah, they're losing the Ghostbusters license. That's why the "WWE Ghostbusters" are a bunch of rushed repaints and crappy soft goods things. Bill said as much when was asked about the Ghostbusters. Basically they had to rush something out.
